IGNOU Certificate Programme in Healthcare Waste Management

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Certificate programme in Healthcare Waste Management (CHCWM) in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO). The programme aims to improve the public health system and enhance environmental safety to build professional capacity for safe and effective disposal of biomedical waste.

The IGNOU CHCWM programme further aims to address the health and environmental hazards that arise due to the improper disposal of healthcare waste. Hence, the programme targets professional and paramedical working professionals working in hospitals, municipal sanitation departments and waste management services in order to teach them the need for proper disposal of healthcare waste.
