Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam comprises different papers and levels. One of the common subjects across all the levels of the TET examination is Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP).  Candidates should prepare well for the Child Development and Pedagogy section, as it is one of the compulsory sections as well as one of the most scoring sections of the TET 2025 exams. It is not surprising that for most of the aspirants, this section is new as it has never been a part of the school or college curriculum. The TET CDP helps teachers understand child psychology in the classroom. 

Both the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and state TET exams follow a similar pattern, and CDP is an integral part of the syllabus in both cases. A:

The TSTET syllabus is the list of subjects and topics that candidates need to study to appear for the exam. The TS TET syllabus includes Paper 1 subjects and Paper 2 subjects. Candidates need to study all the subjects as presribed in the latest syllabus to score well. The TS TET Paper 1 syllabus includes the following subjects:

A:
CTET exam comprises five subjects in Paper 1 and four subjects in Paper 2. CTET Paper 1 subjects are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. CTET Paper 2 subjects are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science/ Social Studies or Social Sciences.

The Child Development subject deals with the mental development of a child through different phases of adolescence. And Pedagogy is the science of teaching. A teacher must understand the psychology of the students, and accordingly, he or she needs to adopt a teaching method. The CDP section helps teachers in doing the same.

In the TET 2025 exams, such as CTET, Bihar STET, UPTET, MAHA TET, TS TET, PSTET, REET, and others, Child Development and Pedagogy of various sections together comprise 60 per cent weightage of Paper 1 and 53 per cent of Paper 2. The questions are asked mainly about development and its relation to learning, the concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs, learning and pedagogy etc.

A:

The candidates who want to teach in the upper primary classes (6 to 8) have to appear for the HTET Level 2 exam. The HTET syllabus for the HTET level 2 exam are given below:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Languages (Hindi & English)
  • Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness
  • Subject Opted by the Candidates (Social Studies/ Science/ Mathematics/ Others)
