MAHA TET 2026: New Exam Date (Soon), Admit Card, Answer Key, Pattern & Syllabus

The authority is expected to soon release the new MAHA TET 2026 examination dates at mahatet.in. Also, the MAHA TET admit card will be issued again for the exam that was postponed.

MAHA TET or Maharashtra TET is a state-level teacher eligibility test (TET) conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Classes 1 to 8 teachers in the schools of Maharashtra. The MAHA TET exam is conducted at two levels – the Primary (Paper 1) and the Upper Primary (Paper 2).

Candidates who plan to become teachers of Classes 1-5 need to appear for the MAHA TET Paper 1. On the other hand, candidates who plan to be teachers of Classes 6-8 need to sit for MAHA TET Paper 2. Candidates who wish to be teachers of Classes 1-8, need to appear for both papers.

The MAHA TET admit card will be released again for the exam that was postponed. It is mandatory for a candidate to carry the admit card to the examination hall, without it, candidates will not be allowed to sit in the exam. MAHA TET exam pattern 2026 highlights overall structure of exam including total marks, section-wise marking scheme, number of subjects, total number of questions and time duration. MAHA TET exam pattern differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2. However, both papers share same number of questions and marking schemes. Each paper is of two hours and thirty minutes in duration and comprises 150 questions of one mark each. There is no negative marking in exam. MAHA TET Answer Key 2026

The MSCE will first release the provisional answer key for the MAHA TET exam online. The MSCE MAHA TET answer key will be available as a PDF download file.

The MAHA TET result 2026 will be released on the official website at mahatet.in. It will be announced in the form of pdf. The result contains the details shared below-

• Candidate details
• Exam name
• Paper name
• Subject name
• Marks obtained in each subject
• Overall marks
• Qualifying status

MAHA TET Qualifying Marks 2026

Candidates need to obtain MAHA TET qualifying marks 2026 to clear the exam. The MAHA TET passing marks are 60 per cent for the general category and 55 per cent for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Persons with Disability (PwD).That is to qualify the exam, candidates need to score the minimum qualifying marks- General Category 60% and OBC/SC/ST/PwD 55%. Those candidates who secure the minimum cut off will be issued the MAHA TET eligibility certificate, which is crucial to apply for the government and private teacher recruitment in Maharashtra schools.

The MSCE Pune started the MAHA TET application process 2026 with the release of the notification on March 27. The last date to fill out the application form was April 24. Candidates can apply online for the MAHA TET as shared here:

1. Visit mahatet.in
2. Click on the link/button available for new registration
3. Fill in all details asked in the registration form such as name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, address, mobile number, email ID, etc.
4. Click on Submit to submit the MAHA TET registration form
5. Note down the system-generated registration ID and password
6. Login to the registered account using the registration ID and password
7. Fill in all details asked in the MAHA TET application form such as educational details, preference for exam cities, etc.
8. Upload scanned images of photo and signature
9. Preview the application form in detail and if required edit the details
10. Pay the MAHA TET application fee
11. Submit and save the page.

MAHA TET Application Fee

If all details entered in the application form are correct, candidates can proceed towards the payment of MAHA TET application fee. Candidates can pay the application fee in online mode via credit card/debit card/internet banking/ wallet payments. If payment is successfully made, a transaction receipt will be generated. Candidates, thereafter, have to take a printout of the duly-filled and submitted MAHA TET application form.
