AP TET 2022 exam is underway for the August session. The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh is conducting the AP TET August 2022 session exam from August 6 to 21, 2022 online in computer-based test (CBT) mode in 22 exam shifts. What is AP TET?

Department of School Education, Government of AP conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) to determine the eligibility of candidates as teachers of Classes 1 to 8 in all schools of Andhra Pradesh (Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided etc.). The APTET 2022 will be conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in several exam centres in various districts in Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Odissa. AP TET 2022 will be held online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). "The objective is to ensure National Standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)", informs the official notification of APTET.

AP TET Question Paper 2022

The AP TET question paper 2022 has been prepared online this year. Candidates will get to see the AP TET question paper on the computer screens while giving the exam. APTET 2022 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Candidates must bring APTET admit card 2022 to the examination centre.
  • Candidates need to carry one photo identity proof and passport size photo to the centre.
  • Strict actions are taken against candidates found guilty of misconduct.

Fill APTET Application Form

Candidates need to fill their APTET 2022 application form online on the official website of the exam. Aspirants are advised to thoroughly go through the information bulletin for the APTET exam before filling their application form.

Release of APTET Admit Card

Candidates need to download their AP TET Hall Ticket 2022 from the official website of the exam. The admit card is an important document and any candidate who is not carrying a valid hall ticket on the day of the exam would not be allowed to appear for Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. To download the APTET admit card, candidates need to enter the login details such as registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. 

Appearing in APTET Exam

Aspirants need to appear for Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test as per the date, time and exam centre mentioned on their hall ticket. The duration of the APTET exam is 150 minutes for each paper. APTET comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates applying as teachers of class 1 to 5 need to give Paper 1 whereas those applying for classes 6 to 8 need to give Paper 2.

The AP TET application 2022 was carried out online at aptet.apcfss.in or cse.ap.gov.in. Candidates needed to fill out the applications online in order to give the exam. Have a look at the steps given below to apply online for the exam:

  • Visit the official website- aptet.apcfss.in.
  • Click on the ‘Payment’ link and make the fee payment.
  • You will get the ‘Candidate ID’ upon successful payment of fees.
  • Click on the ‘Candidate Login’ link against the ‘Application’ tab.
  • Login using the Candidates ID, date of birth and verification code.
  • Fill the APTET application form.
  • Upload the scanned image of photograph

APTET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates need to meet the AP TET eligibility criteria 2022 for Paper 1 (Part A & B) and Paper 2 (Part A & B) in order to appear for the exam. Have a look at the basic eligibility conditions below:

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1 Part A (Classes 1 to 5):

  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BelEd) OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education (BEd) OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated BEd/ MEd

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1 Part B (Classes 1 to 5) (Special Schools): RCI Qualifications Elementary:-

  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary and two year DEd Special Education in any of the categories of disability OR one-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the category of disability OR
  • Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf OR Primary level Teacher Training course in Visual Impairment OR Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) / Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment – Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with 6 months
  • Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 2 Part A (Classes 6 to 8):

Mathematics and Science Teachers/ Social Studies Teachers/ Language Teachers

  • At least 50 per cent marks either in Graduation/ Post Graduation with BEd OR
  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE OR Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and 1 year BEd (Special Education) OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEIEd) OR 4 years BA/ BScEd or BAEd/ BScEd OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three years integrated BEd-MEd

Note: The minimum percentage of marks in graduation will not be applicable to those who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education prior to July 29, 2011. The relaxation of up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks will be allowed to the SC/ ST/ BC/ PH.

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Language Teachers (Classes 6 to 8):

Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (or) Graduation in Literature (or) Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers

The APTET syllabus 2022 is prescribed by the Department of School Education, the Government of AP. The AP TET syllabus 2022 differs for Paper 1 A-B and Paper 2 A-B. The AP TET Paper 1 syllabus includes topics from five sections:

AP TET Exam Pattern 2022

AP TET Certificate 2022: Validity

The AP TET qualified candidates will be awarded the eligibility certificates. The validity period of the APTET certificates would remain valid for life. The AP TET certificate contains the following details:

  • Name and address of the candidate
  • Registration number
  • Year/ Month of award of certificate
  • Marks obtained in each paper
  • Class level of its validity (Class 1 to 5/, 6 to 8 or Both)

Weightage to APTET 2022 scores for Teacher Recruitment in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh Government gives 20 per cent weightage to the AP TET scores in the teacher recruitment in the state. The balance 80 per cent weightage is given for the written test in the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) based on which selection list is prepared. However, only qualifying the APTET 2022 exam would not confer a right on any
candidate for recruitment or employment.

A: The APTET certificate is now valid for life. The NCTE has officially extended the TET certificate validity to a lifetime period.  

Q: Will I get the job after clearing the APTET exam only?

A: Qualifying APTET exam does not guarantee a job to the candidate. It is only one of the eligibility criteria for the teacher recruitment process.

Q: Will the AP DSC unit give me a job if I clear the APTET exam?

A: No, AP DSC only gives 20 per cent weightage to APTET scores of candidates in the teacher recruitment process of Andhra Pradesh and the 80 per cent weightage is given for the written test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) for selecting the candidates.

Q: Can I apply for APTET again if I had already qualified the exam before?

A: Yes, you can apply for the exam again. There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
