The Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER Tirupati) changes the number of B Sc. seats it accepts each year according to the total demand and the resources that are available. As a general guideline, the institute normally offers between 180 and 200 seats for the B Sc programme annually.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana scholars admitted to IISERs will draw fellowship as per KVPY norms. In addition, Department of Science and Technology provides a limited number of INSPIRE scholarships of Rs.5000/- per month to candidates admitted through JEE and SCB channels, upon fulfilling the criteria set by DST. Students admitted to the BS programme in Engineering or Economics are not entitled for the scholarship.

For IISER Tirupati for MSc course admission, candidates must have completed the stepwise admission procedure. Candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognised board. Candidates must also appear for the IISER entrance exam. On the basis of a candidate's score in the IISER entrance exam (also known as IISER aptitude test), he/she can secure admission at IISER located in Thiruvananthapuram. Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for the IISER entrance exam . As per the IISER entrance exam pattern, there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.
