As per U.S. News ranking of the National Universities, the University of Buffalo ranking in 2026 is #75. In the previous year, this university ranked at #76, one spot lower to the current rankings. The National Universities category shows that UB ranks among the Top 100 Universities in the U.S. It is also ranked at #36 in the Top Public schools category.

For SUNY Buffalo MBA admissions, students can apply online. MBA course of UB is a STEM program, which means, international students can have an additional 24-months Optional Practical Training. For admission to this course, a Bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA is required. Submission of GMAT / GRE test scores is optional. The application fee is USD 100  (Around INR 9k). Along with this, students have to submit: 

  • A resume
  • Career objectives essay
  • Previous degree transcripts

An unofficial source says, the University of Buffalo acceptance rate is 74%. This shows the university is easy to enter and follows an easy proces during admission. During admission some factors like LOR, transcripts, English language requirements, and GPA score are important.

Yes the University of Buffalo accepts international students. The official data says, over 31,000 students take admission to the university in 2024-25, of which over 20,000 were UG and more than 11,000 were PG. A total 4,264 international students had taken admission.

The University of Buffalo ask for GRE score for some PG programs. The university provides test option for international students. Students usually submit these score along with the transcripts, LOR, English language requirements to give a boost to their application.

Students should apply through the Common app, SUNY or Coalition for UG, and via university website for PG admission. UG students should have a high school certificate, and PG students should have a UG degree. They need to submit documents like transcripts, LOR, to get admission.
