The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) is a decent option for B.Tech CSE, but it is not among the top engineering colleges in India.

Pros

It is a Central Government University, so the degree has good recognition.

The fees are lower than many private engineering colleges.

Faculty members are generally well qualified, and the curriculum follows AICTE guidelines. 

Cons

Placements are still developing and are not as strong as those at top institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, or leading private colleges.

Based on available data and student reviews, the average package for B.Tech is generally around ₹3–4 LPA, with limited campus recruitment

Central University of Kashmir PG registration process is currently open. The online registration process for CUET PG will close on 14 January, 2026. Candidates must register for the desired course before the last date. The university will start the admission process, once NTA conducts the entrance exam.

As per recent Central University of Kashmir placement stats, the BA LLB UG level programme graduates received a package of INR 3.6 LPA during the placement year 2023. The University offers placement assistance through various training programs and industry-oriented skill enhancement programs. In addition to this, the University also provide placement assistance through various partnerships with recruitment partners.

Admission to CU Kashmir includes merit and entrance based eligibility criteria. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12 along with valid scores in CUET UG/PG for the admission to UG and PG level courses. Furthermore, candidates must apply through the official website of the University. Shortlisted candidates must pay the fees and confirm the seat.

Admission to BCom is offered on the basis of merit. Central University of Kashmir offers BCom as a 3 to 4 year UG level course. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 for further shortlisting process. In addition to this, candidates must meet the cutoff rank or score in CUET UG to be shortlisted.

Central University of Kashmir offers BSc as a 4 year programme at the UG level in full-time mode. Admission to the respective course is offered on the basis of merit and would require candidates to secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12. The University offers respective course with an annual intake of 50 students. Considering the placement stats, its a good course to pursue.

The University was established as the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir. It was established along with 15 other Central Universities by an Act of Parliament in 2009. The University has been granted 503+ acres of land during its establishment by the state government. CUK has 21 schools and 21 constituent teaching departments. These establishments offer 40+ PG, UG, Diploma, Research, and Vocational programmes.
