Following are the steps to apply as a Bartender abroad:

  • Firstly, gain basic experience by working as a bartender, barback, or waiter in your own country. As many countries prefer candidates with at least 6-12 months of hospitality experience. 
  • Work on building an international ready resume by highlighting your key and unique skills like drink knowledge, languages spoken, and customer service abilities.
  • Get a Bartender certification (optional but helpful), as certifications in Responsible Alcohol Service (e.g., TIPS, RSA, RBS) are valued.

Here are a few challenges or the hardest part of bartending jobs:

  • Long standing shifts can affect their physical well-being. Plus, irregular shifts can also affect their work-life balance. 
  • Handling various personalities and situations, including the ones who are intoxicated and demanding. Hence, they must have conflict resolution and well applied communication skills in those times.
  • Another challenge is that they have to manage multiple task at once such as preparing drinks, customer service, and maintaining a clean workspace.
