Counselling and seat allotment are done solely on merit, based on the entrance examination performance. The KIITEE counselling schedule will be announced on the KIITEE official website soon after the results are declared. Qualified candidates will have to attend the counselling as per the schedule. COEP Technological University (formerly known as COEP) admissions to all courses are strictly based on merit only. Hence, those candidates who do not have a valid score or rank in GATE or MHT-MTech are not eligible for admission to MTech courses of the College of Engineering Pune (COEP).There is no such provision to get admission to MTech at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) without having a valid rank/ score in GATE.GATE is not necessarily required for MTech admissions in India. If you don't have GATE scores, you can aim to apply for MTech courses in private academic institutions in the country or seek study abroad opportunities

The qualifying marks for the KIITEE are different for each stream or discipline. Candidates securing the minimum qualifying mark will be eligible for further admission.
For BTech programmes of four years duration, the applicant must have passed 10+2 in 2024 or 2025 or must be appearing in the final year examination. The minimum qualifying mark for BTech admission is 60% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
BTech and MTech Biotechnology's minimum qualifying mark is 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.

To participate in the GATE counselling, candidates must qualify for the GATE exam. The GATE scorecard is valid for three years. Candidates must also have a CGPA of 6.5 or 60% in their graduation from a recognised university/board. On the other hand, candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD candidates must have a minimum of 6 CGPA or 55% in graduation.

The cutoff score varies every year and is determined based on factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and available seats.
