1. Every student must sit for entrance exam.
The applicant must put his/her feet into KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) Entrance Examination which happens to be the only entrance exam in this college for admission. Valid score of KEAM is a must-have requirement for applicants.
JEE Mains: A valid score in JEE Mains or applicants may also be considered for admission.
2. Educational qualification:
Candidates who have passed the 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects are eligible to apply.
Holders of the qualifying examination (12th-grade) must have attained at least 50% aggregate. Certain relaxations apply for reserved categories. 3. Merit list basis: 
Based on marks obtained in KEAM and JEE Main, and based on the academic performance in the respective 12th grade, the selection of the candidate will be finalized.

To get into the boy's hostel at VIT Vellore, freshers have to furnish several documents. These are photocopy of admission offer letter, photocopy of 10th & 12th standard marks, photocopy of Transfer cert., Photocopy of community cert. and photocopy of Aadhar card. Also, the students have to provide four passport sized photographs and a demand draft for INR 30000 towards hostel charges of first semester only. The hostel fees for a year comes to nearly INR 50000 INR per student which makes the total INR60000 INR for the academic year. In addition, students are required to produce medical fitness certificate and undertaking form which can be obtained from VIT website.
