First, a bit of a background. I did my mechanical engineering from a decent state level university college and I got placed into IBM in the final year. Having no other options, I joined IBM after college. But I wanted to work in a field of my engineering background, and so I also took up GATE coaching at ACE Academy. Hello Shifa, you can pursue B.Sc in Food Technology at M.E.S Arts and Science College, Perinthalmanna based on your degree merit, Candidates aspiring to take admission to B.Sc food technology degree programme must have completed their 10+2 with physics, chemistry, mathematics as compulsory subjects and an aggregate of 50 percent.
Candidates must have successfully cleared the entrance examination asked by the university (if any).

The placements opportunities in NITs are very high. So preferer to take admission in NITs over IITRM for Mechanical engineering.
