If you've studied well for boards, then of course you can get a good rank in VITEEE. Otherwise, chances are less. Few tips -

  1. If you're in CBSE, focus only on class 12th topics. Very less topics are from 11th like equilibrium, etc.
  2. Follow the brochure and prepare accordingly.
  3.  If your preparation for boards was good, then it won't take much effort.
  4. VITEEE has no negative marking, hence attempt all questions. Keep a margin of 5-10 min just for attempting the questions whose answers you don't know.
  5. Solve your strong subject first and the weakest subject in the end.

All the best. VITEEE is one of the easiest entrances in engineering.

As for government. Engineering college the candidate must be appeared in respective government Engineering entrance exam. For most of the government. Colleges JEE Mains is sufficient. But some colleges conduct their own entrance exams. Like WBJEE COMEDK etc. Now some private engineering colleges can give admission based on 12th marks. But through JEE Mains you can also get good private college. B.Tech from CSE is top notch branch nowadays so your child has to grind hard to present his skills and get admission in superb college.

The cut off ranks for popular engineering colleges are higher compared to less popular colleges. The cut off ranks for top colleges such as JNTU College of Engineering Hyderabad, Osmania University College of Engineering, and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology are usually in the range of 5000 to 10000.

At this percentile its very much hard to get any government college if you belong to general. But you can try for some lower branches in some colleges. You can improve your percentile in 2nd season so just focus on that . best wishes to you.

Information technology is going to be huge day by day. Due to its increasing demand it will create too many jobs and help us to build a good and better infrastructure. But with rapid changes in the domain comes the demand for skilled talent to recognize the industry's needs and cultivate relevant skills. As the World Economic Forum states, by 2025, machines will displace 80 million jobs and about 100 million jobs will be created in the IT industry with these new sets of skills.

The rank at 96.73 percentile would be around 37k because of the season conducted, twice the rank will decrease because the best one will count. Best wishes to you.
