The last year cutoff of Computer Science courses in the HPCET was 20% for the general category candidates and 15% for the reserved categories. For HPCET 2023, it was a minimum of 55% in Class 12 for the general category and 50% for the reserved categories. Admission will be on the basis of merit in the HPCET exam and the number of applicants and seats available. These cutoffs are indicative and may vary each year based on overall exam performance and institutional policies.

The candidates will receive four marks from the authorities for each correct response. But for each wrong response, you will lose one mark. The HPCET questions carry negative markings, so applicants are urged to proceed cautiously.

Candidates cannot bring electronic items inside HPCET exam centre. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops, calculators, smart watches, etc., are not allowed. If candidates possess these items inside centre, then they will be disqualified. HPCET exam centres will not have facility to store these items.

While reporting at the HPCET exam centres, the candidates will be required to present their identity proofs along with the admit card. Any one of the following identity proofs will be accepted by the authorites at the HPCET exam centres - Aadhaar card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, any Government approved identity proof. The original identity proofs should be presented and photocopies will not be accepted.

Candidates cannot pay the HPCET application fee offline. The fee payment has to be done through net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI. The authorities will not accept any other mode of payment.

While filling HPCET application form, candidates will have to upload their photograph and signature. Documents have to be scanned correction in application form. If documents are not uploaded correctly, form cannot be submitted.
