IIT Gandhinagar offers good placements to its students. According to the latest available, BTech placement rate recorded for CL, EE and ME branch in 2025 was 73.33%, 72.97% and 79.49%. For BTech CSE branch, the placement rate was 86.05%.

IIT Gandhinagar placements 2025 were good. The consolidated placement report 2025 is not released. As per limited available, the average and median package recorded during BTech CSE placement 2025 was 23.21 LPA and 21.5 LPA. The placement rate recorded in BTech CSE, CL and and ME branch was 86.05%, 73.33% and 79.49%.

IIT gandhinagar is good college because there are numerous internship opportunities available on campus, facilitated by the Industrial and Research Project Council. This council is dedicated to finding suitable internships for students. Stipends vary based on the nature of the work, ranging from as low as INR 3000 to as high as INR 40,000 per month for online internships. For offline internships, stipends can go up to INR 2 Lacs per month, depending on the work and the company.

IIT Gandhinagar admission process is entirely based on the selection of candidates via popular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced and GATE, etc., for courses such as BTech and MTech, respectively. Further, IIT Gandhinagar conducts an institute-level test for the selection MA and PhD courses. Candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as per the course requirements and then qualify for the respective entrance exam in order to secure a seat at IIT Gandhinagar. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through counselling process.

The eligibility requirements for IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) did not involve a minimum percentage or marks in Class 12 for the majority of participating institutes. The eligibility criteria for IIT JAM are largely concerned with the bachelor's degree and the minimum marks or CGPA necessary to secure in that degree.

Not getting into IIT Gandhinagar or any other premium IIT should not be considered an end to a student’s career. While IIT Gandhinagar can give an average salary of INR 19.60 LPA to its 2023 placements batch, can IIT Gandhinagar guarantee the same for each and every student of the batch? The answer is no. What truly matters is a student’s dream to pursue a career in Engineering and as long as they are ready to work on their learning and are focused towards achieving their goal, they must not feel defeated in case of not getting into IIT Gandhinagar.
