Both the branches are 2 different streams. If you aim to be a software engineer or if you are a good coder you can opt for VIT. If your aim is to become a mechanical engineer you can opt sastra. Now a days software industry has high demand if they study well they can get job easily that is not the case for mechanical engineering.

B.Tech there is Jee mains entrance exam for master degree there is no such requirement.
You can take admission in VIT Vellore on Merit Basis.

Hello,
A very interesting query has been posted. It requires solution in all dimensions. Firstly, and most importantly M.Tech and MCA are considered as almost same by many in the industry. But, this is far from truth. Though of course, both are post graduate courses. Pursuing M.Tech is possible only if one has completed B.Tech or BE in relevant field. Only after this, admission is feasible. Then, there is GATE that one needs to clear before admission could be thought of.On the other hand, pursuing MCA is possible based on marks obtained in BCA at graduation level. This is not same as always and changes according to the requirement every year. Sometimes you might get this in first category or sometimes it can be in third as well. But this time it seems you can get in second as the seats have not been fixed by VIT.
