The basic eligibility requirement to get admission into M.Tech courses at NIT Rourkela and NIT Andhra Pradesh is almost similar. GATE is optional and it is among the BITS Goa ME accepted entrance exams. Alternatively, the candidates can also take the BITS HD Online Test. In case of Software Systems the score on BITS HD Online Test is the only factor taken into account.

SVNIT Surat provides M.Tech specialisation in a wide range of core branches of engineering starting with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science etc. Every branch is designed to have higher studies together with research possibilities. One will select the branch position in accordance to the qualifying degree and GATE paper of the candidate. The admissions will be made on availability and merit.

The candidates to participate on the M.Tech programme at SVNIT Surat should have a degree of BE/BTech/B.Arch. They must obtain a minimum of 60 papers or 6.5 CGPA. The reserve to 55 or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD students. All categories are required to have a valid GATE score.
