you should pursue this course. IIT Kanpur has very good placement records and you will definitely get a very good package. Also check the placement records before joining.

No, a bachelors in science student can never apply for M.Tech in IIT or any other college because they take admission through GATE exam and B.Sc. students are not eligible to sit or appear for it.

According to UGC NET guidelines, candidates can apply for the exam with the subjects in which they have cleared their post graduation or related to that subject. As per your subject, you are eligible to take UGC NET exam with Environmental Science subject.
