Step 1: Convert Your Grades to a Numerical Equivalent

The grades are usually converted under an IGCSE system into a numerical percentage. Here is how that is done based on grades:

A = 90-100%*

A = 80-89%

B = 70-79%

C = 60-69%

D = 50-59%

E = 40-49%

U = Below 40% (usually considered failed)

In case this does not give a percentage and instead gives letter grades, calculate the approximate percentage based on the grades and mention the same in the NEET application form.

Step 2: Fill in the Details 

Total Marks: This usually means in the NEET application form the most marks that your board could award for 10th examinations. For IGCSE, this is usually 800 (8 subjects of 100 each).

Marks Achieved: The marks achieved means the total marks you have earned on the basis of your grades. If your result is available already in percentage, approximate marks can be calculated by taking a percentage of total marks (eg. if you scored 85%, marks achieved would be 85% of 800 which is 680).

Step 3: Submission of Marks If you have the exact percentage, you can use that for 'achieved marks.' If the above does not apply, and form strictly calls for numerical, use above conversion for the approximate marks.

Step 4: Stay Updated with NEET Instructions 

Check properly with the NEET directions or guidelines concerning completing the marks for students taking IGCSE. You may be asked to attach a certificate or provide further information to validate your marks if grades were used.

With a NEET score of 180, it is going to be a little tough to get into any government medical college for MBBS, at least in the most competitive states. But there are some private medical colleges where your daughter will have a chance, but the fees will be much higher. Some of these options include:
Uttar Pradesh: Era's Lucknow Medical College.
Karnataka: Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Maharashtra: Dr. DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai.
Bihar: Katihar Medical College.
It is best recommended to check the recent trend of cutoffs and research the management quota or lower cutoff ranks private colleges might provide better opportunities.

You could have a scope for getting admission in government or semi-government medical colleges if your score is around 480 in NEET, mainly in states whose cutoffs are lower than average, or for other categories, though it does completely depend on the category and college. Top medical colleges under government in metropolis cities tend to take up people with higher scores so 480 marks does not really guarantee admission here. You can explore government medical colleges in states that have relatively lesser competition, and also semi-government or private medical colleges with a lower fee structure. State-specific counseling updates should be checked for more accuracy.
