No, you cannot take direct admission at NIFT Mumbai. The college offers merit-based admission based on the scores in NIFT exam. Merit is calculated based on score in GAT, CAT exam as well as Situation test and personal interview. Candidates needs to clear the cutoff of exam and fulfil the eligibility criteria.

NIFT Mumbai offers entrance-based admission. The registration window foe NIFT entrance exam is closed now. The application window ran from December 8, 2025, to January 19, 2026 (with late fees). The entrance exam for 2026 was conducted on February 8, 2026, and results for Stage 1 are expected in April 2026 .

NIFT Mumbai MDes cutoff 2025 was released for all round and All India categories. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff range for the MDes course fell between 58 and 95. To know the overall rank range for other AI quota categories, see the list below.
- General: 58 to 95
- OBC: 232 to 398
- SC: 438 to 506
- ST: 561 to 323
- EWS: 533 to 533 (R1)

NIFT Mumbai MFM cutoff 2025 concluded with the release of the final round cutoff list. For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff was 58, which later increased to 73 in the last round. Students can refer to the table below to know the overall cutoff range for various All India categories.
