Some popular scholarships for international students with their eligibility are:

  • MYR 3,500 (INR 70.6 K) per month for upto 24-36 months
  • Return airline ticket of economy-class
  • Must be a international student from a country eligible for MTCP
  • Must not be older than 45 years of age at the time of submitting application
  • Must be applying for a PG degree in Malaysia
  • A Minimum GPA 3.0 at the UG level
  • Must have attained  minimum scores in IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL iBT (60) & a degree with English medium of instruction
Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS)
  • Covers full-tuition fee of studies in Malaysia
  • A return airline ticket to the student's home country
  • A living allowance worth MYR 1,500 (INR 30.2 K)  per month
  • Comprehensive Medical & Health cover
  • Conference Travel Grants
  • Must be applying for a Masters or PhD degree 
  • Must not be older than 40 years of age at the timeo of submission of application
  • For PG studies, must have attained a minimum GPA 3.0 at the UG level
  • For PhD, must have attained a minmum GPA 3.0. at the PG level of studies
  • Minimum scores in IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL-iBT (92)
  • Previous degree must have been taught in English
Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship
  • Complete coverage of tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend for living allowance
  • A round-trip to the student's home country free of cost 
  • An arrival allowance
  • Must be a citizen or permanent  residence of a Comonwealth country 
  • Must not be older than 45 years of age at the time of application submission
  • Minimum GPA 3.5 
  • Must secure minimum scores  in the IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL iBT (60)

Yes, IMU Chennai does offer female scholarships to BSc students. Basically, In order to encourage and motivate girl cadets to join the maritime career, deserving girl students are being given scholarships by the industry. fee concession for girl students is under consideration by the Government of India.
