I think no engineering college guarantees placement to its students.In fact, engineering colleges are there to make you an engineering. Even the students of IIT endup jobless.
The condition of NITs (except the top NITs) is worst. Many newly established NITs are still struggling for campus and well as faculty members.
I am not saying that you should expect nothing. It is up to you and your calibre to get a good job offer.The placement cell can only invite the companies for you. Getting a job or not depends on you. If you have talent then you will surely get a good job offer even through off-campus placements. I have seen students of BIT Patna who failed to get a job through campus placement but got the job of around 30 LPA off campus.
You can expect a placement package as high as 1 crore and as low as zero. Now, I think that things are clear in your mind. NIT will only give you tag and knowledge. You can get jobs in PSUs as well. However, you can expect an average package.

Birla institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra is considered as best private engineering college after Birla Institute of technology and science (BITs) Pilani. The reputation of BIT is very good, even in foreign companies. As it is an old engineering college, the alumni network is very good. Alumni of BIT Mesra is working in top companies of the world.
Getting placement abroad is not a big deal. More than thousands of students have been placed abroad till now. Although the number of foreign placements is few.
If your aim is to get placed abroad then BIT Mesra will be a good place to study at. But only your caliber and talent will fetch you foreign offers.

The problem with aerospace engineering branch is that you just cannot consider doing it from every other college or you would be forced to join some IT company with an average placement of 3.5-4 LPA.
This is also the case with Chandigarh University, where the training and placement cell of the college fails to attract a number of core companies in the department of aerospace, considering the lesser number of opportunities for an aerospace engineer in India.
So you will be asked to sit for an IT company if getting placed appeals you the most.
Other than that, if you really want to remain in the core field you should consider doing your Master's degree from IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology), which brings you one more step closer to ISRO or if you manage to be among the top 10 students in the aerospace department of an IIT, you might get into the ivy league colleges and from there you might make your way to NASA.

Just as I have been dealing with each and every question related to foreign placements, a college can only play a small part in fetching you a foreign placement by attracting some of the foreign companies to their college during the placement season, but they are just a few in number.
Other than that, considering the multinational companies, their decision to make you work at which job location is based on many internal factors, although they do give your option a little preference.
The factors being, vacancy in the job location of your choice, the projects going on at the job location that matches your profile and the company's requirement.
Now to answer your question, yes, there are a number of students getting placed abroad every year, but they are the ones having extraordinary profiles.
Simply a National Institute of Technology cannot guarantee you a job abroad.
Hence, as of now, you should consider making your college life meaningful rather than concentrating on foreign placements.

JSS Academy of Technical Education, JSS Mahavidyapeetha is one of the best colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

First of all, no government organisation or any PSU would consider your degree of mechanical and automation engineering equivalent to a mechanical engineering degree because of which you will not be able to qualify for companies looking for mechanical engineers.
The number of core companies visiting the campus during a placement season is very less, that being Anglo Eastern Shipping that do offer packages as high as 14 lacs, but then you have to spend around 4 months on the ship.
The college would make you sit for IT companies' placement which would offer you nothing more than 4 to 5 lacs.
Pros:
If you are really interested in the field and you want to go for higher studies abroad, then you will be able to increase your prospects much higher to get placed in some core company paying you nothing less than 15 lacs per annum.

The selection of a candidate for MS program is a 2 stage process in abroad:
Selection process goes something like this there is a list of cutoffs for a threshold values for certain selection criteria for example all the students with GRE above 310 will be cleared or All students at CGPA above 8 out of 10 will be selected, etc. This limit is not very strict and flexible there is also criteria of English proficiency test.
In this process you will be just on your GPA GRE score letter of recommendation and sop, etc. And is highly flexible. Student with great academic but not so good GRE marks can be selected over a student with perfect GRE score and average Academy.
So as you can see in both of the process there is always more weightage given to to your GPA than any other factor the weightage of the factors is given below:
