The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masters degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

The NET Exam is conducted every year for the aspirants want to make career in the lectureship and Research programme. The NET Exam do not have any age limit if you are 35 years old you can appear in the NET Exam. The JRF Exam is conducted for the Scholarship programme where an aspirant who qualifies this exam is provided the scholarship worth INR 25000 per month. But to appear in the NET Exam there is age limit to avail scholarship. The NET Exam age limit is 30 years for the General Candidates While for the Aspirants from the Reserved Category and Women the age limit is 35 years.
