For Tolani Maritime Institute DNS admission, candidates must have passed Class 10 or 12 with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with at least 50% marks in English. Admission to this course is done with a three-level selection process. The institute accepts a valid score of the respective entrance exam. For admission, candidates have to pass an Online Screening Test at the first level. The next step is to qualify for Sponsorship Test, which is conducted by the Registered Shipping Companies. Further, they have to appear for Shipping Company's interview round, followed by a medical test from the Company/DGS-approved doctor. For admission to a three-year BSc course in Nautical Science, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Those who attain 60% aggregate in Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for this course. Admission to this course is entrance-based. Tolani Maritime Institute conducts Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test (TMI SAT), which is particularly conducted by the institute for admission to its BSc course. This course is offered in affiliation with IMU and after the completion of this course, students will receive a degree from IMU. The institute also accepts the  IMUCET entrance exam, which is conducted by IMU itself. Candidates have to appear and qualify for both entrance exams with a valid score.
