No, Admission to the BTech (Bio-Technology) course via UPTAC counselling is done based on the CUET UG course and not JEE Main ranks.

The eligibility for UPTAC counselling for BTech admission is given below:
- Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject/Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. And
- Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
OR
- Passed minimum 3 years Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at la

There is no age limit for admission to the courses covered in the UPTAC counselling. Candidates must read the UPTAC information brochure before they apply for the UPTAC counselling process to understand the eligibility requirements and all the admission related procedures.

The UPTAC counselling merit is determined based on the JEE Main ranks of the candidates for BTech admission based. Based on the choices filled by the candidates in the counselling process, thir category and the JEE Mains ranks declared by NTA, seats will be allotted to the candidates. The UPTAC seat allocation result will be available on the official website under the respective logins of the candidates.

The various steps involved in the UPTAC counselling process are:
- Stage 1- Registration and uploading of documents.
- Stage 2 - Document verification and responding to queries.
- Stage 3 - Choice filling
- Stage 4 - Seat allotment
- Stage 5 - Willingness submission and seat confirmation
- Stage 6 - Physical reporting at allotted institute

The class 12 marks is not considered while alloting seat to the candidates. BTech seats are allocated based on JEE Main ranks only. However, to be eligible for UPTAC counselling, candidates must have atleast 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of reserved category) aggregate marks in class 12.

Candidates can withdraw their seats from UPTAC counselling by selecting the "Withdrawal" option. Once a seat is accepted, candidates may choose to withdraw, but they should think carefully before doing so, as AKTU will not permit them to participate in any subsequent rounds.

The last round of the UPTAC counselling is called the special round. Candidates who have confirmed their seats after last main round of the counselling process are not eligible for this round. Or, all such candidates who have been allotted seats and have paid seat acceptance fee but have not withdrawn in Stage 2 & 3 cannot appear in this round.
Fresh registration are held for the special round. Candidates have to register for using the link available on the official website of UPTAC for participating in UPTAC special counselling round.

In 2024, 87389 seats were offered in BTech courses across all the participating colleges. Candidates who register for UPTAC counselling can check the seat matrix on the official website of UPTAC - uptac.admissions.nic.in. The seat matrix includes following details:
