One of the best institutes for marine courses.
Placements: Many companies have already come for placements like Maersk V Ships wallet, etc. Almost half of the batch got placements in many of them. They also have STCW courses and other firefighting and post courses. By doing all this, we get extra knowledge and become fit to go on board.
Infrastructure: Hostels are okay to stay in, and all are within a compound. The classrooms are also very nice. Talking about the food, it is very good, especially the dinner. There are a total of 4 hostels inside the campus for marine students, 3 for boys and one for girls, which are well-maintained throughout the year.
Faculty: Semesters are quite hard, but the faculty makes it easier for you, and they are easy subjects. Along with that, they have practicals to train us to be fit on board. AMET University is a DG-approved college in collaboration with Maersk, and it is also the first maritime college in India.
Other: Best level of education along with extra events like sports and culturals.

MBA in Shipping and Logistics Management - Batch of 2022

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Overall it is the best college for an MBA.
Placements: About 55% of students were placed. The lowest monthly salary is Rs. 20,000. The highest package provided is Rs. 90,000, and the average monthly compensation is Rs. 45,000. Reputable recruiting agencies hire people from our college. The government also hires students. Almost 39% of the students in our course were successful in landing internships.
Infrastructure: The best facilities of this college include Wi-Fi, the best library with the latest edition of books, modern classrooms, and a playground garden. The hostel is also excellent and provides high-quality food in the mess and canteen. Overall, the college has a perfect infrastructure which includes a newly built auditorium, library, playground, canteen and classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are incredibly helpful and kind, and participating in college societies allows you to form positive relationships with teachers from other departments as well. The course material is pertinent to preparing students for corporations and insurers. In our department, 95% of students passed the semester examinations, which are challenging enough to prepare them for more difficult exams.

Take admission, only if you get a sponsor.
Placements: College is overcrowded, they don't even provide sponsorship to every student, and only 20%-25% get sponsors rest of them are like that only. Placement percentage is below 30%. Salary ranges from Rs. 20,000 Rs. 50,000 per month.
Infrastructure: College has a very big campus, with everything provided for the merchant college. About maintenance, where they fail to maintain, every equipment and things around the college. They have a full simulator fitted in the college, but for my batch, they didn't provide similar classes because the software of the simulator was not working. Every time we asked the management about when we were going to use the class, they said the software of the simulator crashed, and it cost more than two crore rupees, so you won't be able to use it.
Faculty: Teachers are good, but since they are from Tamil Nadu, there is sometimes a bit of partiality between North Indian and Tamil Nadu students. Captains and merchant faculty members do not show any partiality between North students and Tamil students. They are equal to everyone. Talking about extracurriculars, faculty members like nautical maths, english, projects, and IT. They give more marks to Tamil students compared to North Indian students.
Other: I only recommend this college to those who already have some family members in this field or who already got a sponsorship before admitting in this college.

AMET University in Kanathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Placements: I think in 12th grade, a student with above 50 percent in all subjects is eligible. The college offers placement for students with companies like Marks, M.Sc. and Evergreen. The students should have good skills, and they should develop their communication and a role to fit into a company.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi with a high range, and it's free. The classrooms are technologically advanced by using projectors and online teaching by showing PowerPoint presentations. The computer labs are used for projects and other uses. The library is also good having a peaceful atmosphere. The college has its own hostel, which has high security, cameras and rules. The food is also provided 3 times a day.
Faculty: The faculty members in the college are very supportive, they help students and teach well. They give a course curriculum that helps to know about our subjects. The notes given by the teacher are very important, which help in the exams.
Other: I chose this college because I wanted to study about shipping and logistics course, and this college is a suitable one for my course.

B.E. in Marine Engineering - Batch of 2025

Good college for those who genuinely want to learn.
Placements: AMET University offers great placement opportunities as topmost companies of the world visit our campus for campus placements like M.Sc. Maersk, Fleet Management, K Line, Dynacom Tankers, etc. A lot of good companies such as CMA CGM and Pacific Eastern Shipping are showing interest in hiring the cadets of AMET University.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent for the number of students in the college. For all the courses such as BE Marine, B.Sc. Nautical, BBA ETO, GME, and many more, college accommodates very nicely and allows a healthy and clean environment for the students on the campus.
Faculty: The professors of the college are well-seasoned and experienced in their domain of maritime. With retired chief Engineers and captains as the professors, the students get experience from their knowledge, which is not confined to textbooks but includes actual real-life experiences.
Other: AMET University offers a great platform for maritime education and training, as the college promotes the overall well-being of students, not just academics.

It is a good college if you choose a career in the Merchant Navy and work on ships.
Placements: About 65% of students get placed in my batch. There is no such thing as the highest or lowest package. All packages are the same. Several companies, mainly shipping companies, such as M.Sc. Stenabulk, Maersk, Ships, CGA CMA, etc., which are the major recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: Mainly, hostels are very poor in terms of space, Wi-Fi connection, ventilation, and washrooms. For each floor, only 3 out of 10 washrooms are in good condition. There are new hostels that have been built in a modern way, and each room has windows and proper ventilation. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and provide a good environment.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and have years of experience in sailing and teaching. This course is for the crew and officer positions on ships. The first year will be training, and after several competency exams, you can become an officer. The pass percentage is 70/100 for core subjects and 50/100 for other subjects.
Other: I chose this course because it offers good packages and value for the efforts we are putting in.
