Alagappa University Karaikudi is ranked 47th by NIRF 2024 under the University category and 17th by NIRF 2024 under the State Public University. Alagappa University was established in 1985 and is located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu.

However, for the BSc in Nautical Sciences course, candidates shall have a valid score of IMUCET. This programme is offered by Coimbatore Marine College. Also, admission to BSc in Physical Education course is done based on candidates performance in the Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Games Test marks.

The passing minimum marks in Alagappa University exam is 40% out of 25/15 marks in theory papers. A minimum of 40% out of 40/10* marks is required in practical exams.
