Aligarh Muslim University (popularly known as AMU) was established in 1920 as a public university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Aligarh Muslim University (popularly known as AMU) was ranked 11 and 19 under the ‘University’ and ‘Overall’ categories, respectively, by the NIRF 2022 Rankings. AMU is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities), and its courses are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is accredited by the NAAC with “A” Grade.
