In an effort to strengthen global communication through the exchange of ideas, Parul University welcomed the distinguished scientist and the 6th president of Mauritius, H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, under the Global Perspective Series, hosted in association with I.I.M.U.N. The theme for the day revolved around ‘Role of Youth in Building a Borderless World’, which left the students encouraged to reflect on their actions and efforts towards a more connected global future.

An excellent biodiversity scientist and a globally renowned leader, H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim has contributed greatly towards scientific research and environmental awareness. During her journey of serving as the 6th President of Mauritius, she has been highly acknowledged by many for her contributions to promoting policies that are science-driven, sustainable, and youth empowering.

The discussion was attended by a group of students who came from various disciplines. This provided a chance for them to exchange meaningful ideas on some aspects concerning global unity, governance, and emerging leadership that will ensure the shaping of a borderless world.

Emphasising the power of youth in redefining global governance and challenges, H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim addressed the students by stating, “Learn to love one another and choose peace over war.” Additionally, she spoke on the intersection of women's empowerment and education by saying, “Educating women is not just the right thing to do, it’s the smartest thing to do.”

Expressing his views on the occasion, Dr Devanshu Patel, President of Parul University, also shared his thoughts by saying, “It is indeed an honour to welcome a leader like H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, whose success story proves how the power of education and persistence can shape our students to think beyond boundaries and contribute to global progress with a strong mindset.”

Through programs such as the Global Perspective Series, Parul University makes sure that its students gain an international perspective on global issues as they directly interact and learn from globally renowned leaders, thus helping them become responsible citizens.

Parul University's online courses offer the same UGC-approved curriculum as their offline programmes making the degrees highly valid & recognised by employers. However online learning lacks physical campus amenities, labs & face-to-face networking, traditional on-campus programmes.
