Hello there, From my point of view, it is definitely a smart idea to look at the NIRF rankings before taking admission, especially if you are planning to pursue a professional course like engineering. NIRF rankings are given by the Government of India and they judge universities based on important factors like teaching quality, research work, placements, facilities, and student outcomes. So it gives you a fair and neutral view about the performance of a university.Talking specifically about the NIRF 2021 rankings, Lovely Professional University (LPU) was ranked 66th among engineering institutions, which clearly shows its strength and consistent efforts in providing excellent education and placements in the engineering field. On the other hand, Chandigarh University (CU) was not ranked within the top 100 engineering institutes in the NIRF 2021 rankings. This tells me that when it comes to engineering, LPU had a much stronger and recognised standing compared to CU at that time.If you are serious about your career in engineering, especially in fields like CSE or Mechanical, then keeping an eye on rankings like NIRF definitely helps you make a better and more informed decision.I hope this helps.

I don't know about 2021 rankings but as per the latest rankings CU is ranked #20 in NIRF 2024. Chandigarh University stood out among many private institutions, and it's reflected in its engineering disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering. They also don't offer B.Tech, instead they offer B.E. because it is globally recognised.  The Mechanical Department here is not just about theory—it's a complete package. From Applied Thermodynamics, CNC Machines, and Fluid Mechanics Labs to industry-involved training centers like Mahindra & Honda, the curriculum is designed to meet industry demands.The engineering courses are also ABET and NBA Accredited. What really makes CU special is their focus on future tech like smart manufacturing, CAD/CAM, AI in mechanical, and Industry 4.0 concepts. They regularly host experts from top companies and foreign universities to bridge the gap between learning and practical application. So yes, if you're using NIRF as your decision metric, then Chandigarh University is definitely a smart and future-proof choice. 

To be honest, I don't know much about Bengal College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) in Durgapur, West Bengal. But I can definitely talk about Chandigarh University (CU) since my real sister studied there, and I've seen firsthand how their CSE programme works.The CSE department at CU has pretty solid placement options. Big companies like Microsoft, IBM, and Google come to the campus to hire students. The pay packages are really good, which is great if you're aiming to kick off your career strong. Students don't just learn theory—they also get to work on real projects, which helps them become job-ready.They also organize a lot of workshops, guest lectures, and seminars. These events keep students in the loop about the latest tech trends and what's happening in the job market. So if you're someone who wants to learn and grow, CU gives you tons of chances.Overall, placements at CU are impressive. I was looking for a good university for the UID - Industrial Design course, and I came across Chandigarh University. This university has some really cool studios and labs where students can actually work on real projects instead of just reading books. They have a lot of workshops, expert talks, and training sessions, so you get to learn from real professionals.The best part is that they focus a lot on practical learning. You don't just sit in a classroom; you actually create designs, work on 3D models, and learn from experienced designers. The university has amazing software training, industrial experience, and even international opportunities.Another great thing is that this university is known for its placement support. They make sure students get good job opportunities, and since industrial design is growing, it helps a lot to study in a place that connects you with the right companies.

When choosing between Chandigarh University and CGC Landran for CSE and placements, the decision depends on multiple factors like infrastructure, curriculum, industry exposure and placement opportunities.Chandigarh University has gained recognition for its modern approach to education, strong industry links and better placement records. The university offers updated courses aligned with industry trends, global collaborations and hands-on learning with advanced labs. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and IBM actively recruit students from CU, offering high packages. The university also provides various certification programs, internships, and research opportunities, which help students build strong technical and practical skills.On the other hand, CGC Landran also provides decent education and placement opportunities, but CU has a better edge in terms of company tie-ups, salary packages and the overall learning experience. CU students have secured top placements, with some even getting international offers. The university's strong placement cell and tie-ups with multinational companies help students get better job opportunities.

When I was choosing a college for B.Tech in CSE, I had to decide between JSS Noida and Chandigarh University. After exploring both, I personally felt that Chandigarh University Offers more when it comes to exposure and modern learning.CU offers specialised CSE (Hons.) programs like Artifical Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Full Stack Development, and more — all in collaboration with IBM. You even get IBM certification and mentorship  from industry professionals. They've also built industry- sponsered labs like Microsoft Labs, Oracle Lab, IBM Lab, and Red Hat Lab, so student can actually  work with real tools and technologies that are used in companies.One thing I really liked is the focus on practical learning and projects. Plus, students get a chance to participate in state-level and national-level tech competitions, hackathons, and coding contests — which helps a lot in building confidence and trading confidence and real- world skills. 

If your priority is being in the tech hub of India and being close to industry giants like Infosys, Wipro, and IBM, then colleges like R.V., PES, or Ramaiah in Bangalore offer the geographical advantage. They've been around longer and have established industry connections in the city. However, they also tend to have higher cutoffs, limited seats, and sometimes higher tuition costs—plus, hostel and living expenses in Bangalore are significantly more than in Punjab. On the flip side, Chandigarh University (CU) has been rapidly rising in rankings, and its CSE department is ABET and NBA accredited, which is a big deal for any engineering program. It offers affordable fees, scholarships up to 100%, and excellent placement records, with packages going up to INR 1.7 Cr/year and companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft visiting regularly. If you're looking for value, global exposure, and a modern campus with a strong academic system, CU is a really smart and practical choice.

When it comes to choosing between Chandigarh University (CU) and MMDU for CSE, CU stands out in many ways. Trust me, if we talk about engineering programs, CU offers both CSE and CSE with specializations. From the 4th semester, students can pick elective subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things.The CSE department at CU has top-level labs like the Microsoft Innovation Centre, IBM Software Lab, Virtusa Robotics & Automation Center, and HP Center of Excellence.
