Yes, fashion students at CU often get abroad-exposure as part of their learning. There are tie-ups with foreign universities so students can take part in semester exchanges or international workshops and internships. Studying overseas allows seeing how fashion is done in different regions — the materials, the consumer tastes, the production methods — which you might not get to see by staying local. These experiences also help build a global mindset, which is valuable in fashion. CU supports students for these opportunities with resources like international relations offices and helps in arranging travel, accommodations and sometimes scholarships, making it more feasible for students to go abroad.Thank you.

At Chandigarh University, most big IT companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Infosys ask for a minimum of 60 percent in academics to sit in their placement drives. If you don't meet this it doesn't mean you have no chance. The university also invites many startups, mid level firms and product based companies that are more flexible. In such cases your skills in coding, problem solving and projects matter more than marks. You can also take advantage of CU's training programs, hackathons and industry tie ups to prove your ability. If you focus on building strong technical knowledge, good communication skills and certifications you can still secure a good job even without meeting the 60 percent criteria.

Media Studies at Chandigarh University (through the University Institute of Media Studies, UIMS) is pretty good if you're into journalism, film, digital content, advertising etc. The curriculum is well-designed: you'll take subjects like News & Contemporary Issues, Broadcast Media, Digital Content Creation, Editing Lab, and even labs for anchoring & interview skills. They mix theory with practical work. There are labs for radio, TV, editing, designing, plus internship opportunities and real-time projects. Students also get to participate in media workshops, photo-walks, and events such as the CU Media Fest, which gives exposure and builds portfolios. Placements are also happening: grads are getting hired by media houses, radio & TV, digital agencies, and companies like Radio Mirchi.

I heard that Chandigarh University provides a lot of opportunities to psychology students at Chandigarh University to attend various workshops and seminars. I heard that eminent speakers like Dr. Rajesh Gupta from PGIMER delivered sessions on CBT and psychological well-being. Clinical psychologists from healthcare institutes such as Fortis have also visited to discuss mental health challenges. Students also took part in unique activities like Psyche Fest and Tech Invent events, which included themes of past life regression, psychological testing, and mindfulness sessions. Moreover, visits to institutes like the Government Rehabilitation Institute of Intellectually Disabled and the Institute for Blind in Chandigarh helped them see the practical side of psychology. Guest talks from spiritual teachers like Karma Yeshe Rabgye Lama also added value by focusing on happiness and inner peace and more such events and seminars takes place.

Whenever students think about engineering, they always ask about placements. Computer Science placements have been quite impressive in Chandigarh University. The recent drive included participation by over 240 multinational companies coming to the campus. Names like Microsoft, IBM, HP, SAP Labs, and Wipro, as well as Capgemini and Flipkart, were present. Out of these, more than 2000 students got placed from the CSE and IT branches. The highest package was 1.7 CR abroad while in India; that figure was 54.75 LPA. There was also a 60% rise in total offers compared to the year before. The growth in numbers shows that placements in computer Science are improving each year. For students who want IT and software jobs, CU placements offer wide exposure to big companies.

It mostly depends on personal interest in choosing the branch. Chandigarh University has in place the most popular CSE (General), which has all the basics of Computer Science and advanced topics like AI, IoT, and cloud. This ensures good clarity concerning available career options after graduation. Specialized branches might probably be beneficial if already interested, for example, CSE-MC for anyone passionate about developing mobile applications alongside software interfaces. Another is IoT, which is best for quite a number who lean more towards smart devices, sensors, and technologies of future advancement. But IT is to CSE what an applied computing strand is to a regular computing strand, bearing more on networking. So, if you happen to be confused, go with CSE (General); however, if at all you have a clear passion for a field like IoT or Mobile, then choose specialization. Both ways, the university provides good exposure and training.

Honestly, the Journalism and Mass Communication course at Chandigarh University is very practical. You spend most of your time working on real projects—creating news reports, shooting videos, editing, running radio shows, and managing digital content. The labs and studio sessions let you experience what it's like to work in actual media environments. Theory is there, like media ethics or communication principles, but it mainly supports your practical work. The internships and live projects with media organizations give you hands-on experience and help build a strong portfolio, which is crucial for placements. By the time you graduate, you're not just familiar with concepts—you've actually done the work, which makes entering a newsroom or digital media firm much easier and less intimidating.

Yes, doing B.E. CSE (Hons.) in IBM Information Security at Chandigarh University is worth it if you're serious about cybersecurity. The course is designed with IBM, so you don't just study theory but also get practical exposure in labs, projects, and case studies. You'll learn things like ethical hacking, cryptography, and how to protect systems from cyberattacks. Since security is a growing concern in every industry, the demand for skilled professionals is high, and having IBM attached to your degree makes your profile stronger. Placements are good, with companies hiring for roles like security analyst, network security engineer, or ethical hacker. What makes it more valuable is that CU also pushes students to take certifications, attend workshops, and work on real-time projects, which helps you stand out during placements.
