Working with top news channels after completing Media Studies at Chandigarh University is achievable but it depends on effort and experience. CU gives students access to professional labs, industry projects and internships that build hands on skills in journalism, editing and digital content. These experiences make your resume stronger and help you understand the media world practically. While CU provides guidance placements in big national channels are competitive so students need to actively network, participate in workshops, and maybe even freelance or create content on digital platforms. With dedication the programme gives you the skills, exposure, and confidence to compete for roles in top news organizations but getting there will require initiative and persistence alongside your degree.

Though the university is recognised as a top institution in engineering education, and with quite a uptake with regards to placements, there have been efforts, and keep on putting efforts, by the university, to connect students with such prestigious employers within the country and around the globe. Some of the multinational companies that throw lucrative packages include Hewlett Packard, Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Deloitte, Amazon, IBM, and SAP Labs, Samsung, Reliance Industries and Godrej, among a large list of MNCs that recruit students from the university. It has a fairly large number of placements and some very good packages as well, one student securing an astonishing international package of Rs. 1.7 crore rupees, while domestic offers have also nicely crossed the impressive figure of Rs. 54.75 Lacs per annum. These are indicative not only of the quality of education and skills gained, but also of the successful collaborations built with the topmost companies.

Yes, several design studios and art companies actively hire Fine Arts graduates from Chandigarh University. Students trained here have joined creative hubs that focus on product photography, branding, and animation. Studios look for artists who can adapt traditional art into digital platforms, and CU students are well-prepared for this. For instance, companies involved in packaging design and visual identity have taken graduates as junior designers and creative assistants. The university's exposure through exhibitions and campus showcases helps students display their portfolios directly to hiring organizations. With specialised training in both modern software and classical techniques, Fine Arts graduates stand out in the competitive art market. These connections also lead to opportunities in set design, visual merchandising, and independent art studios. Many recruiters prefer CU students because they've already practiced in industry-like studios during their coursework, making them comfortable in professional environments from day one.

Chandigarh University has shown a steady rise in its NIRF rankings, and yes, it is now very close to entering the top 25 in overall performance. In the university category, CU is ranked 19th in 2025, compared to 20th in 2024 and 27th in 2023. This consistent climb highlights the university's improvement in teaching quality, placements, research, and industry collaborations. For a university that started in 2012, moving this quickly up the NIRF ladder is no small achievement. The 19th spot among all universities (government and private) shows CU is now competing directly with some of the country's top institutions. If it maintains this pace, entering the top 15–25 range across multiple categories looks very achievable in the coming years.
