Admission to most Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses is based on CUET (Christ University Entrance Test) conducted by Christ Deemed-to-be University, Department of Media Studies.Apart from CMAT Christ University, Institute of Management also accepts ATMA/GRE/GMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT scores. Undergraduate with 50% in all the subjects including language.

The M.A. in Media and Communication Studies programme offered by the Department of Media Studies at Christ University offers two specializations:

1. Multimedia Journalism
2. Advertising and Corporate Communication

Both specializations are well designed to provide students with theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills required for the media industry. However, the best specialisation depends on a student's interests and career goals.

Multimedia Journalism

The Multimedia Journalism specialisation focuses on training students in various forms of new media journalism like web journalism, mobile journalism, digital video and audio production, data journalism, investigative journalism, etc.

Students learn how to report, write and produce news content for multiple platforms like websites, blogs, social media, podcasts etc.

This specialisation is suitable for students who want to pursue a career in digital and online journalism.

Advertising and Corporate Communication

The Advertising and Corporate Communication specialisation focuses on training students in areas like advertising, public relations, event management, social media management, corporate communication, etc.

Students learn how to create and manage communication strategies for brands, organizations and corporates.

They don't have a set cut off, a lot depends on your interview, for argument's sake consider the cut off to be around 75%. The eligibility requirement is a Bachelor's degree with 50% marks. The entrance exam tests candidates on their aptitude, knowledge of current affairs, and reasoning ability. Christ University Entrance Test / Skill Assessment (The skill assessment will consist of a test on written skills, communication skills and logical reasoning).

• Personal interview.
• Academic Performance (Assessment of past performance in Class 10, Class 11/12, during the Personal Interview).

There isn't any particular cut off percentage as such. Every year the percentage for cut off changes.

According to Shiksha, 75% of students from the Department of Media Studies at Christ University were placed in 2023. The average salary package was 3 LPA, with the highest being 8 LPA and the lowest being 3 LPA. Top recruiters included Vedanta and Viacom. 

According to another Shiksha review, 98% of students from the MA in Media and Communication Studies programme were placed, with the highest package being 9–13 LPA, the lowest being 3 LPA, and the average being 5–6 LPA. Top recruiters included Cisco, IBM, and SAP.

 

The cut-off marks for M.A. at Christ University- Department of Media Studies vary each year depending on the number of applicants and the overall quality of the applicant pool. However, as a general guideline, applicants should have a minimum of 55% marks in their undergraduate degree to be considered for admission.

The Christ University Department of Media Studies has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, Around 60 to 80 percent of the candidates got placed in mass media courses. As per the latest placement report in 2022, the highest package offered was INR 13 Lacs Per Annum for Mass Communication students, the average salary package offered was 6 Lacs Per Annum and the lowest package offered to mass communication candidates was INR 3 Lacs Per Annum during the placement. Axxela, Aspire Systems, KPMG, ICICI Bank, Ernst & Young, Accenture, and Brain Capability Network are the companies in which candidates got jobs and internships. A total of 1,698 and 1,304 Undergraduate and Postgraduate candidates were placed and 79 percent of candidates were placed during the Christ University Department of Media Studies placement drive 2022.

Christ University Law Admission. Students willing to apply for the law admission should meet the criteria of the courses they are applying for. The admission procedure compromises of Eligibility criteria meet, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Entrance Test, Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

Christ University offers seats to candidates based on entrance exam score of the candidates. The university conducts Christ University Entrance Test for admission to courses such as BSc, BTech, BBA, BCom, etc. Besides, the university also considers scores in national-level entrance exams such as XAT, CAT, NATA, etc. for admission to specific courses.
