School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for PhD course. Candidates with M.Phil degree from a recognised university are exempted from taking the entrance examination, if the degree has been obtained on or after July 11, 2009. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round. 

School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University offers admission to PhD programme based on scores in entrance test conducted by the university. The PhD entrance examination comprises two papers-General Aptitude & Research Methodology and  domain-specific subject as studied at the postgraduate level. Both the papers consist of 60 multiple-choice questions and the time allotted for each paper is one hour.

School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University admission to PhD programme is based on an entrance test conducted by the university. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round. The exact date, time and venue of the exam is communicated to each shortlisted candidate. The final results are announced once the scores obtained by the candidates in their PG examination, entrance examination and personal interview are consolidated.

Candidates must complete a four-year bachelor's degree programme or a two-year master's degree programme after a three-year bachelor's degree programme with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories) to apply for School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University PhD programme. 

Candidates who have passed a master’s degree or a professional degree with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL) or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale are eligible to apply for PhD programme.  Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% aggregate can also apply.

School of Legal Studies, CMR University fee is a sum of various components such as caution deposit, exam fee, etc. Candidates have to pay the course fee at the time of admission and then as per the frequency set by the school. Below is course-wise fee for CMR Law College:

CMR University accepts CMRUAT exam for various courses such as B.Tech, B. Des B.A. LL.B. MBA< LL. M. and BBA LL.B. Apart from this, the university also accepts CAT MAT ATMA KMAT for MBA course. Moreover, for B.Tech admissions, the entrance exams accepted apart from CMRUAT is JEE Main COMEDK, and KCET.
