CUHP offers BA course across two specialisations. These are Shastri and Sanskrit. The UG-level programme is an honors degree progarmme lasting three years. The BA (Hons) is spread across six semesters. Candidates who have qualified the eligibility criteria for the BA course and have secured a valid score in the national-level exam CUET are eligible to apply for CUHP BA admission. 

Eligibility criteria: Class 12 with a minimum of 50% Marks or an equivalent grade from a recognised school board.

To apply for the Central University of Himachal Pradesh BA course candidates must appear for the CUET exam. Once the CUET exam results are out, candidates are required to register on the official website of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. Central University of Himachal Pradesh BA admission dates are already out for 2024. For BA admission 2024, CUET 2204 dates were important as admission to the UG level at CHUP were subject to a valid scores in the CUET eaxams. In 2024, the registrations for CUET-UG 2024 started in February and continued till April 2024. The BA admission 2024 merit lists are out now. The BA registration was conducted on August 22, 2024. The regular class will be commenced on August 22, 2024, tentatively. 

Once the merit lists are released, candidates are called for registration and verification of academic qualifications/documents. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2026 registration will commence in first week of March at cuet.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the CUET 2026 notification in first week of March 2026. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET registration 2026 process begins online at the official website. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET 2026 exam must ensure that complete the application form online. Additionally, before filling out the application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the prescribed CUET eligibility criteria to qualify for the entrance exam.

For a basic requirement for form apply 50% marks are needed in Bachelor's degree. And if you are willing to join through CUET, then the expected cutoff of this year is in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics 330 to 300, BFA in Painting 190 to 160, B.A. (Hons.) in Sanskrit 300 to 150, BFA in Sculpture 90 to 40.

The eligibility criteria for the M.Sc programme offered by the Central University of Himachal Pradesh include having a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in a Bachelor's/Undergraduate degree in a non-medical/engineering/technology stream from a recognised university. Additionally, candidates must have passed BCA/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or an equivalent degree with at least 50% marks, or a Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level with at least 50% marks. Candidates admitted with a PGDCA Diploma do not need to undertake additional bridge courses.

It is unclear whether Central University of Himachal Pradesh is the best university in Dharamshala as there is no comparison with other universities in the area.
