Ambedkar Open University Course Admissions 2025: Fee, Eligibility & Selection, Application Form

BAOU offers admission to UG and PG programmes based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. Hence, aspirants do not require passing an entrance test. The selection is done purely based on merit. Aspirants only need to meet the eligibility requirement and apply for the preferred course to get admission in the university. Once the selection is done, candidates have to pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University also offers online courses through its Centre for Online Education (COE). BAOU course admissions are merit-based for most of the courses offered at the university. The university has a student network of 3 Lakh students.

BAOU offers seats to candidates based on their merit. The university does not accept CUET scores and aspirants can get admission based on their score in the qualifying exam. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for the preferred course and pay the programme fee to confirm their seat in the university.

BAOU provides more than 80 undergraduate, postgraduate, UG diploma, PG diploma, certificates, and doctoral programmes. No. There is no age restriction at BAOU for admission provided the minimum qualification required for admission is fulfilled. Besides, candidates have to complete a minimum of Class 12 for UG and graduation for PG programmes. 

The admission cycle at BAOU for the July and January sessions starts in June and December, respectively. Candidates need to apply online at the official website of BAOU. BAOU admissions are merit-based. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website. Further, the seat allotment is done based on the selection criteria, seat intake, and verification.

BAOU provides a fee concession to female students. The total tuition fee for BA is INR 5,400 for male candidates and for female students is INR 3,600. This given fee is further as per the data collected from different unofficial websites and hence is subject to vary. BAOU applications are currently open for July session. Candidates can apply online for the preferred course. Aspirants have to fill out the application form and pay a fee for admission. Applications for July session are usually closed in November. Once the application process is, candidates are considered for admission.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply by filling out the application form. The university accepts applications for BA courses via online mode. Candidates can hence visit the BAOU website to fill out the application. At the time of form filling, important documents such as Class 10 and 12 pass certificates also have to be uploaded. The form shall further be submitted within the due date.

BAOU scholarships are offered under various schemes such as Covid Shiksha Suraksha Yojana, Shaheed Samman Yojana, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Fellowship,  and Parivar Pathey Yojana,  among others. Additionally, many government-funded scholarships are also offered at BAOU. The government-funded scholarships are given to students coming from SC/ ST/ OBC and other minority communities. The post metric scholarship form for the SC/ST/OBC students is usually released in November on the digital Gujarat portal. To avail of a scholarship, students must fill out the scholarship form and submit it before the prescribed deadline. The important dates are published on the open university official website.

There are a total of 15 core subjects inclulded in the BAOU MBA course curriculum. Apart from this, it has specialisation specific subjects as well. In the first two semesters, candidates have to study core subjects only. Mentioned below are some of the core courses:

Yes, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) offers a MBA programme. It is a two-year course divided into four semesters. Admission to the PG-level programme is granted on a merit-basis. The applicants performance in bachelor's degree course is considered for selection.
