Goa University, founded in 1984,   provides higher education in the state of Goa.  It is accredited with 'A+' Grade by NAAC and approved by UGC. Goa University has over 10 schools of study. It offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD courses to students. These courses are offered across Science, Management, Commerce, etc. streams.

In the Goa University, the passing rates are divergent in both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students under the UG have to pass a minimum of 40 percent aggregate mark on a combination of theory and practical. In respect to PG, both internal and end-of the semester assessment needs a minimum of 50 percent. Such criteria are able to support academic standards and fairness of all courses.

Goa University conducts its entrance exam for some of the courses. These are GU-ART and GU-PET for PG and PhD programmes, respectively. Goa University admissions are both merit and entrance-based. For admission to PG courses, the university conducts its in-house entrance exam, i.e.,  GU-ART, GU-QET-, GU-CLAT, etc. or accepts national-level exams such as CMAT/ ATMA for a course like MBA. Goa University admission cycle begin in May/ June with registration. 

Goa University has record of providing placement assistance and job opportunities to its candidates. According to the NIRF report 2025, 60 MBA students were placed from the total 233 graduated batch 2024 with a median package of INR 3.09 LPA. In UG 3-year program,  4 students of the batch 2024 were placed with a median salary of INR 6.10 LPA.

Goa University offers various UG, PG and doctoral-level courses at campur or through affiliated colleges. The university offers UG courses such as BA, BBA, BSc, etc., while all the PG courses such as MBA, MSc, MCom, MCA, etc., are taught through various schools and departments at the university and affiliated colleges. For MBA admission, the university accepts CMAT/ ATMA scores. For UG courses, the selection is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates might need to come for personal interview round for some of the courses. The university releases its merit lists of the selected candidates for various courses. Shortlisted aspirants need to pay the programme fee to confirm their seat in the university.

The total tuition fee for Goa University ME ranges between INR 1.1 lakh and INR 2.8 lakh. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. The total fee of ME includes multiple components such as caution deposit, tuition fee, exam fee, etc. Besides, aspirants also need to pay an application fee of INR 700 (INR 350 for SC/ ST of Goa) for ME.
