It's a good college for students, but it's not so good for core students.
Placements: In our college, almost 70% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TLC, Wipro, etc., visit our campus. Top role offered is software employee. The percentage of placements is increasing every year.
Infrastructure: There are many different facilities offered by the college in our department. They provide different internships and special job-related courses to increase the placement percentage. The hostel facilities are very good. They provide mineral water.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. They are trying their level best to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are difficult.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to settle in the software industry. They are teaching us updated computer languages. It would be better to increase the soft skill sessions.

For studies it is quite good, I'm not satisfied with hostel, nor would you be.
Placements: I didn't see any kind of placements for mining students. I have no idea about the salaries offered. No packages offered for my branch. No internships were provided. We had to do an internship on our own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good and comfortable for us. But the laboratory equipment is to be developed and isn't good enough. The hostel is very bad. It is okay for staying but for food, I don't recommend and I give 0/10 rating for food. At the beginning the food was good but then the quality went down.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The quality was good too. The curriculum needs to improve because it is putting unnecessary things into this and making things heavier which are not need for this course.
Other: The extracurricular activities need to improve It would be better they would treat us like college students and not as school students.

I am highly satisfied with this college faculty and their teaching method. The college is very good.
Placements: Placements in our college were very good compared to the other colleges. Nearly 50% of students get placed. The salary offered is approximately Rs. 20,000-25,000 per month. Nearly 50% of students got internships. The stipend offered is nearly Rs. 5,000-7,000. It is very useful to improve our knowledge.
Infrastructure: The entire college is Wi-Fi enabled. Classrooms and labs are very good. The food served is very tasty. Hostel rooms are very comfortable. The library was huge, and all branch books are available in the library. Daily evening, sports was conducted for at least 1 hour. Medical facilities were very good. There is no need to go to hospitals for fever and other diseases. I am not facing any infrastructure related issues at the college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very talented and helpful. Thet taught very easily which is understood by everyone in the classroom. The quality of teaching is good. The student to faculty ratio was approximately 50:1. I didn't get industry exposure. The course curriculum was very useful for students to score well in the examinations.
Other: Many events like Maitri and many fests are conducted here. The campus surroundings were very beautiful. The campus was surrounded by many trees and parks. Scholarships are also available for financially poor students which were very helpful to them. The college also conducts extracurricular activities like games, dancing classes, boxing classes, and plenty of other activities.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the placements and faculty.
Placements: There are no placements for mining students in our college. As the college does not provide placements, we are facing a lot of problems to get a job. Very few companies came to our college from Hyderabad last year, but no one got placed in the companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided on the campus are not good at all. There is no Wi-Fi connection available in the classrooms, and Wi-Fi signals are available only in a few places on the campus. Coming to laboratories, there are no labs related to us, and no computers are provided to learn the software. There are only a few books available in the library for our branch. Coming to the hostel, the food is not good, and the rooms are good.
Faculty: Faculty are the biggest problem in our college. The faculty members are not suitable for teaching. They come to classes and kill time by talking irrelevant things. They don't teach even for 30 minutes in the 1-hour class. They give notes, but students understand the topics.
Other: In our college, departmental events are conducted by the departments. We have only one event for a year. Nearly 3,000 students are studying in our campus.

A good platform for the students who seek career in mining field by gaining good knowledge.
Placements: It is the only college which offers mining engineering course in Andhra Pradesh, but we didn't get any campus placements. Most of the students of our batch are well-settled with the help of the knowledge we gained in our college from our experienced lecturers.
Infrastructure: Our college introduced mining engineering course in 2007. Initially, for our senior batches, there was no proper infrastructure like machinery lab, geology lab, gas testing lab etc. But later on, the college management has established well-designed labs for the students.
Faculty: The backbone of mining branch in GIET was Late KSN Murthy. He helped the students a lot, to get industry visits and exposed our college in the Mining Industry, which brought us many acceptances for the industrial visits. This year, the faculty are very good and are well qualified. They are well-knowledgeable. They are graduated from IITs and NITs.
Other: An annual cultural event called "Mythri" is one of the best events celebrated in the college. Annual sports meet for JNTUK zonal games will be held in the college. We have very big and spacious classrooms with a big playground and an amphitheatre.

There is a shortage of faculty in the mining department.
Placements: The students of computer science engineering and electrical engineering departments get many placement opportunities. Even the placements for the students of mechanical engineering and civil engineering are good, but the students of mining engineering department rarely get placed. Companies like Ramco Cement and Drill Bit visit the college to conduct placements.
Infrastructure: A gym, mineral drinking water plant, a library consisting of all the books related to subjects and a playground, are available on the campus. There are separate labs for each branch and a seminar hall. The college also provides separate hostels for boys and girls. The college provides bus facilities for students.
Faculty: The college offers many courses. The faculty members of the mining department are not up to the mark when compared with other branches. In the mining department, each faculty deals two to three subjects. There is a shortage of faculty in the mining department, and the faculty are qualified with just B.Tech.
Other: Every year, the college organises a freshers' party for first-year students and a farewell party for final year students.

The infrastructure is good, and the college is developing day by day.
Placements: There are no placements for our branch, but there are a lot of placements for other branches. Presently, mining is developing a lot, so some companies hire mining students from our college. Previously, my seniors got placed in one cement company. The placements are improving with every year, so we are happy about that.
Infrastructure: GIET college has a good and strong infrastructure. The classrooms, laboratories, principal office, administration office, washrooms and everything on the campus are good. The helping staff will clean everything on the campus. Playground and canteens in the college are very good. Sports and games like football, kabbadi and cricket are encouraged on the campus.
Faculty: GIET selects faculty members who are very knowledgeable, so all the branches have knowledgeable faculty. The faculty members in our college are from IITs. Their teaching is very good, and all the faculty members are helpful to students in all aspects. Overall, their teaching is good.
Other: Many festivals are organised in our college such as Mythri programme, branch wise festivals, etc. Scholarships and fees reimbursement are quickly credited to all students.

Dissatisfied because of placements, facilities and laboratories.
Placements: There are no or maybe very fewer placements for mining engineering. Three of my super seniors got placement in Ramco cement industry. Rs. 25,000 per month is the salary for the first-year at the time of training period and then after 50,000 per month. Very fewer companies are coming for placement in mining engineering. As the requirement of mining engineering is very less when compared to other branches of engineering.
Infrastructure: There is a good hostel facility for Indians and as well as foreigners. They do not take care of classrooms as at least there are no sufficient fans in our classrooms. Canteens, playground, labs, gas testing chamber, library, gym etc., are available. There are many facilities in our college which are for the namesake.
Faculty: The faculty are good knowledge persons, but they will not show interest in teaching. This is the only autonomous college in Andhra Pradesh for mining engineering. The college does not take the permission for training and they just give letters to us remaining effort should be taken by students. We know that it is not easy to take permission for training in mines. It will be better if the college takes efforts on practical training in mines.
Other: Many events are celebrated in my college like Maithri, Medha etc. The whole campus has high-speed Wi-Fi system, and it is situated beside Nannaya University. It is not the best college for mining engineering in India, but it is better than other colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
