Q:   Can I take admission in Gujarat Technological University BSc without CUET?
A: 

Candidates willing to take admission in the BSc course at the Gujarat Technical University should check for the admission criteria. The admission is primarily granted on the basis of Class 12 exam under the guildlines of Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS). Therefore, appearing for CUET examis not necessary for the getting admission into BSc at GTU.

For ensuring admission into the BSc Bitechnology course offered by GTU students have to meet the set eligibility criteria by the university. The table given below gives all the eligibility criteria required for the admission:

  • Minimum aggregate of 45% is accepted for general students (40% for the reserved category students).
Q:   How Can I get BBA at Gujarat Technological University?
A: 

Gujarat Technological University BBA admission for 2025 is merit-based. It considers Class 12 aggregate. To apply, students must visit official website (gtu.ac.in) and navigate to the 'Students' section, then 'Admission', and fill out the GCAS registration form. After uploading required documents and paying an application fee of up to INR 500, candidates have to wait for the GCAS-prepared merit list. Finally, to confirm admission, a fee of INR 10,000 is required. Full tuition fee for the BBA course of INR 90,000 is to be paid progressively.

I am absolutely satisfied with the good placements in 2024.
Placements: In my college, in my branch, around 90–95% of students get placed. The minimum placement package is around 6 LPA. Many companies offer jobs in my course, such as Torrent Power, Adani Solar Power, government companies, Tata Motors, etc.
Infrastructure: My college has smart classrooms and a library. Wi-Fi is available for studying, and labs are provided for BME and Physics. The college has water filters for good quality water, a good canteen, and a good hostel mess.
Faculty: In my college, all faculty members are very helpful with subject-related doubts and projects. Faculty also guides us for company work and helps us become good employees. The semester exams are well-structured and difficult, and the passing marks are 23 out of 70. Faculty is also very good.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in electrical work, such as wiring. I love my course. The college organizes many events and fests.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty members.
Placements: Not a significantly high percentage of students get placed. Those who got placed have low-paying jobs. The top recruiting companies for our course are Zydus, Cipla, and Abbott, but the acceptance ratio is very low. Getting internships through college is tough. There is no specific guidance for the GPAT or MBA after the course.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi on campus. Labs are okay, but not excellent. Classrooms are spacious, but the seating is not comfortable. The library facility is good, but the books contain an outdated syllabus. No medical facilities are available. Sports occur just once a year. Sports are organised by seniors, so it is biased.
Faculty: Very few teachers are actually qualified enough. The whole system is based on rote learning and not on knowledge of the subject. The course curriculum is outdated. We get very little to no industry experience overall. Semester exams are extremely difficult to pass, and failing is common.
Other: I chose the course to gain knowledge of the subject and aim for the industry. Good things are practical and are taken seriously. Events are good enough but not great.

Review of Shantilal Shah Engineering College.
Placements: College placement is good. I give a rating of my college placement out of 10 points. I give 5 points for my college placement. The college starts preparation before campus placements, and college faculty guide you on how to clear the written exam and provide tips for interviews.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for my course is very good. There is a new computer lab with decent computer processors like Ryzen 7 and Intel i5, and the college hostel is also good. However, the same building is under maintenance. The college canteen food is also good, and the college library has a good collection of many books available.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. Every faculty member completes their subject syllabus in the decided time. College faculty help in exam-oriented preparation. Every faculty member is highly educated with a master's or Ph.D. certification, and the teaching skills of all faculty are good.
Other: Shantilal Shah Engineering College is the best place for engineering and cultural activities.

It is a government college, so we get a degree at very low fees. The faculty is also good.
Placements: I don't have much of an idea, but not many students get placed. Last year, few students got placed, so recently they made something called the placement cell, so we can see what happens this year. Before the previous year, I guess some students got placed.
Infrastructure: It has a large space, but they could have made it much better with appropriate planning. For now, it's just average. The hostel fee is low, I guess. GEC Surat has the most hostel facilities of all GECs, so many students get it.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified and supportive. The course curriculum is very old and doesn't help much as we learn unnecessary theory, and not much practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams is not very high. We get many questions in exams from PYQs.
Other: I chose this course because I thought having a degree in engineering would be good, as it also provides practical application of theoretical knowledge.

Best infrastructure and good faculty members.
Placements: I want to tell that placement offers are not much, but it is also considered as our starting journey with industry purpose, so there are not many placement offers. This college gives a maximum 4 -5 LPA package for brilliant and knowledgeable students who perform best in their academic journey.
Infrastructure: Here I can say that the infrastructure is better and the labs are also very much in good condition. Labs also have so much equipment and instruments, which are also helpful for students to gain extra knowledge and practical knowledge for an industrial background. Classrooms are also less likely to have projectors.
Faculty: Faculty are the best and also supportive towards students' efforts, and they also appreciate students' efforts for the academic journey. They also give us valuable suggestions for students' performance in the future, so students can get their dream job and achieve their goals.
Other: In this college, festivals, celebrations, and events are also conducted in better ways, and students are also appreciated for their management of events. Students are also interested in engaging in these events and celebrations.

In short, the infrastructure can be improved a lot. Everything else is the best.
Placements: Approximately 30-40 percent of students get placed every year. I personally don't know the highest, the lowest, or the average packages offered in my course by my college. The recruiting companies are some chip development companies, Adani Group, Reliance Group, and some more companies from Surat and Ahmedabad.
Infrastructure: Each class has a central Wi-Fi system on the department side. Laboratories have great and new equipment. Each class has its own projectors so that professors can use them to explain the stuff to students. The hostel doesn't provide food.
Faculty: Faculty members of my department are well-educated from the same stream or belong to the Electronics and Communication background. Some faculty members are very much interested in teaching students, and some are not keen to teach sometimes. Overall, faculty members are great.
