The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Mains 2020 question paper pdf. The exam was conducted in two sessions from January 6 to 9 and September 1 to September 6. The official JEE Main 2020 question paper with solutions of Paper 1 (BTech) and Paper 2 (BArch) are available below. Candidates can download the JEE Main question paper PDF for both the January and September exams using the direct link given here.

The link to the JEE Mains 2020 question paper pdf download with the solution by coaching institutes is also available below in the table. JEE Main 2020 question papers can also be used as practice papers for preparing for the upcoming JEE Main exam. It will help them predict their marks as well as rank. By predicting the tentative marks, aspirants can also guess colleges, in which they would be eligible for admission.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
A:

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A:

Paper 1 has 75 questions where Physics Chemistry and Mathematics, each section has 25 questions. Out of 25 questions, 20 are MCQs and five are numerical value questions. You must answer all 5 numerical value-type questions. All 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory. Complete all 75 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Which topics are most important in JEE Main Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics?
A:

Students who are preparing for JEE Main exam are advised to first cover the entire JEE Main syllabus. Covering only the high weightage chapters would decrease their chances of getting full/high score in JEE Main exam. Only after covering the entire syllabus, students can check most important chapters for JEE Mains.

Q. When will the JEE Main official question paper be released for the September session?

A. National Testing Agency has released the question paper along with JEE Main response sheet online on the website.

Q. Will the JEE Main 2020 question paper be available session-wise?

A. Yes. NTA has published session-wise question papers for JEE Main 2020 January and April/September exams. 

Q. Will the candidates get a copy of the question paper and response sheet after the exam?

A. No! Candidates will not get a copy of the question paper and response sheet.

Q. What is the mode of JEE Main 2020 and timings?

A. JEE Main exam 2020 is being conducted in online mode as a Computer Based Test from September 1 to 6. The forenoon session will be held from 9 am to 12 noon while afternoon the session will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. 

Q. When will the JEE Main 2020 answer keys for the September session be available?

A. The question paper and answer key will be available in the second week of September.

Q. Is JEE Main question paper of shift 1 different from shift 2?

A. Yes, question papers of different shifts would contain different questions

Q. How many sections will be there in JEE Mains question paper?

A. There will be three sections namely - Section 1: Physics, Section 2: Chemistry, Section 3: Mathematics

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What is Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main?
A:

Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main are mentioned below:

  • Physics: Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy.
  • Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry.
  • Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.
Q:   Can I change the language of the question paper during the exam?
A:

JEE Main question paper is in English, Hindi and language selected when you filled application form. In total, JEE Main is in 13 languages and you can select any language out of available options. You cannot switch language of question paper during exam.
