Gauhati University PhD, MPhil Admission 2023
At the post PG and doctoral level, Gauhati University offered PhD and MPhil to the students.

Gauhati University PhD Admission 2023
PhD at Gauhati University is offered across 35 specialisations. Out of these, the seat intake for only Economics, Folklore, Zoology and Wildlife Science specialisations is available on the official website, which is approximately 15, 10, 12 and 5, respectively. For the remaining courses, seats depend on the number of vacancies and UGC guidelines.
- Admission criteria: Gauhati University Research Eligibility Test (GURET)/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ UGC-JRF
- Eligibility criteria: A pass in relevant master’s degree with 55% aggregate
- Duration: Three to five years

Gauhati University MPhil Admission 2023
In addition to the UG and PG courses, Gauhati University also offers one year MPhil programme across 13 specialisations. Additionally, the University also offers a two-year MPhil in History programme to the students.
- Eligibility: Candidates who have passed a PG degree in relevant stream from a university recognised by UGC
