B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) - Batch of 2027
Offered by Roorkee Institute of Technology
3.4

Not so much good, I think there are better options too at this budget and range.
Placements: About 30% of students are placed. Average package is 4 LPA, and they show the highest package of 50 LPA which is all fake. This year, the highest package is 12 LPA only, and not everyone is placed. Placement cell doesn't support that much to students and for everything they charge money.
Infrastructure: Food is not so much good. There are so much restrictions on food. They use low quality paneer, and provide only small amount per serve. Only breakfast is good, and dinner is not good heavy oil and spices are used. At the end of dinner time, they also mix water into the pulse.
Faculty: Teachers are not highly experienced in the field of what they are teaching. They appoint a fresh teacher who serves for 2 to 3 years only, and has much knowledge of the field. A teacher of digital electronics is appointed to teach DBMS, and they are not able to explain it properly.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2023

The infrastructure is not that good, but okay. Teachers are very helpful. They help new students.
Placements: No placement is offered by DAV PG College. A large number of students study in various courses. On average, above 500 students study in each course. The college provides types of courses such as LL.B., B.Ed., journalism, and also has postgraduate courses like M.A., M.Com, etc.
Infrastructure: Lab facilities are good for science students. There is a large hall area with all facilities, such as the best lighting and a new design. All types of lab equipment are available for students. Classrooms are good, but some classes are of an old design. The library is good, with all types of new books available. DAV PG College also has canteen facilities, but unfortunately, there is no hostel facility for students. The college has its own sports teams, such as badminton, volleyball, cricket, etc.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and helpful to students. They are knowledgeable and experienced. The difficulty level of DAV PG College is moderate, and it is easy to pass any semester. The passing mark out of 100 is 35. All degrees help students to get the best jobs.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2021
Offered by Government PG Degree College, Rishikesh
2.8

Review of the PG College, Rishikesh.
Placements: I am from the 2021 batch, and to be very honest, our batch did not had any proper placement opportunities. The college did not provide a good placement cell for commerce students, and because of this, none of the students got placed through the college campus. Most of my classmates decided to continue their education further, with a large number of students gone for Master's like M.Com, MBA, or professional courses like CA, CS, and CMA. Other students started preparing for government jobs like Bank PO, Clerk, UPSC, etc.
Infrastructure: In my experience, the facilities and infrastructure for the B.Com department were very poor. The classrooms were in bad condition, with broken furniture and very little cleanliness. There was no proper Wi-Fi facility for students, and even basic resources like projectors and smart classrooms were not available in 2025. The hostel facilities were also not satisfactory. The rooms were small, and the washrooms were often dirty. The mess food was of low quality and lacked variety. Medical facilities were poor, with no proper medical support for students on the campus. The sports and game facilities were available, like football and volleyball.
Faculty: The teachers were qualified because this is a government college, and everyone was a government college professor and knowledgeable. But the main problem was their attitude towards teaching. Some teachers were helpful when students approached them personally. The course curriculum itself was very basic and covered only traditional subjects like Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Management, which didn't really made students industry-ready. The semester exams in college were not very difficult, you need to learn PYQs of 2-3 years. The pass percentage was usually high, with 80-90% of students clearing the exam every year.
Other: I chose this course because I had taken B.Com in my Class 11 and 12, so that's why I took commerce. But now I regret it because we had very limited exams for a government job. For example, B.Sc. students can give exams in their own field and other fields, but for commerce, there is nothing. If you want to pursue a career in private jobs, then it is good. The college had NCC, and they organized cultural programmes and sports competitions like football, volleyball, etc.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

Review of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Gharwal University.
Placements: Students who were placed in last year's B.Tech course were about 80% in the highest package of football LPA on campus, while the lowest was 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies for this course are TCS, HCL, etc. Several students have used them to get internships from the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, and there is Wi-Fi installed throughout the campus. There are different labs and PCs available for students, and the library is fully air-conditioned. Various facilities are provided in the hostel, and good-quality food is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are also very supportive and well-qualified. They are very knowledgeable and have significant experience in teaching. The curriculum is very easy to make students industry-ready. Exams are held on a semester basis, and the pass percentage is high, with most students passing the exams except for a few who may struggle in the final exams.
Other: I chose this course because it was my passion and it was my future as well. I also wanted to be in a government field college.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology (OIMT)

Below-average college experience in the hills.
Placements: The students of my batch didn't get placed. I am a 2025 B.Sc. IT pass-out (same as BCA). Neither BCA nor B.Sc. IT had placements. Earlier, till 2017-18, companies like TCS, Wipro, and Capgemini visited, but since then no company has come to campus, so students had to search for off-campus opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our department is Computer Science, but the classrooms here are in very poor condition. The fans don't work, the lights are not good, and mosquitoes keep roaming around. The Wi-Fi doesn't work either. Electricity often goes out and comes back only after a long time. In the computer lab, the systems are outdated and run very slowly. Since the Wi-Fi doesn't work, we cannot make any proper project. The canteen of the college is below average, and the hostel facilities are very poor. The college is located in the hills, and the nearest market is 5–6 km away. Hostel rates are very high.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful but not well-qualified, and their knowledge is limited. They usually just translate what is written in the book into Hindi. Most of them could not get proper jobs, and as soon as they get a job, they suddenly leave the college. The course curriculum is not relevant and is outdated. It doesn't make students industry-ready. The semester exams are also not difficult, if you study the last 3-4 years' question papers, you can score well. To pass, a student needs at least 20 out of 70 in theory and 40 out of 100 in total.
Other: I did this course to get a job in the IT sector but can't get one, and my batchmates also have not gotten any job because the majority of students came to this college only for timepass. The course is outdated and needs reform, but this college is outdated in every term, whether in admission, fee submission, everything is offline. No sports facilities except volleyball. The campus surroundings are bad because nearby there is a garbage dump store where unusual smells come from. This college only knows how to loot students; they just increase the college fees every time. Please don’t come to this college, you will regret it.

Outdated college in every way.
Placements: They don’t provide any placement, just eat the fees in the name of training and placement fees, but no company comes. If they come, then it’s a marketing company that is just going to give you 2-3k, which is unacceptable. The computers are also so old they can’t provide you any coding knowledge for the interview.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is very bad. When your semester ends and you get a holiday, after that when the new semester starts, there is so much grass in the college. There are frequent power cuts every time, no Wi-Fi, and if you are able to get Wi-Fi, then there is no speed, you can’t even WhatsApp anyone from that internet. Canteen facilities are also not good; they are just average. The ground is really pathetic, no sports in this college except volleyball, and even that ball flies away.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful but not knowledgeable and not qualified. Their teaching quality is not good because they don’t get jobs, so they are doing part-time work here. The course curriculum is not relevant, we still study an outdated old syllabus that doesn’t make any student industry-ready. The semester exam is very easy, everyone can pass and you don’t even need 75% attendance. Everyone who studies just one night can pass the exam by reading the previous 3-4 years’ question papers in short and making answers, and learning a little bit in regular class.
Other: I chose this course so that I could get a job in government organizations like DRDO, NTRO, etc. I learned about B.Sc. and BCA on my own, not through the college. But I urge everyone, if you really want to make a career in the IT sector, you need to learn a lot on your own, no college is going to teach you. My wish would be to improve the outdated course which isn’t relevant, for example, we study data encryption standards that can’t even be used anymore, but we don’t study new techniques. In our college, there is no fest, only a money-looting system.
