HPNLU LLM Eligibility & Highlights 2025
HPNLU LLM is a one-year course, which is divided into four semesters. Candidates can complete the PG course in four years, which is the maximum duration allowed. For the HPNLU LLM admission, candidates must take the CLAT exam and participate in CLAT counselling. Hence, to get in the full-time course, candidates need to apply for CLAT.
Moreover, aspirants must also fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed for the LLM course at NLU Shimla:
Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants who have passed an LLB/five-year integrated LLB/ or equivalent degree with at least 55% aggregate from a recognised university can apply.

As per the University 2024 fee notification, the fee payment is not accepted except for SBI Epay. The form for the fee payment is made available on its official website. Yes, Himachal Pradesh National Law University offers one-year LLM course. The curriculum of LLM includes compulsory and specialisations papers. The specialisations available are Constitutional Law, Business Law and Intellectual Property Rights and Criminal Law and Forensic Studies.
There are a total of 120 seats in BA LLB (Hons) course of Himachal Pradesh National Law University. Out of the total intake, 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% for ST category candidates. For aspirants belonging to Himachal Pradesh, 25% seats are reserved. Candidates are offered seat in BA LLB (Hons) programme based on CLAT score.
Admissions shall be made strictly on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test provided he / she obtains at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test (45% marks for SC/ST candidates). This is a two year programme of regular study.
The cutoff for Himachal Pradesh National Law University Shimla in 2023 will be determined by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) during the CLAT counseling process. NLU LLM course admissions are decided on entrance basis. The steps involved in the NLU Shimla admission process are CLAT-PG registration, appearing for the exam, cutoff release, CLAT-PG counselling, seat allotment, fee payment, and admission confirmation. STEP 1: HPNLU LLM Application Process
The eligible candidates can visit the CLAT website (https://clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in/) to register and apply. The CLAT-PG application process is carried out in an online mode. Candidates should enter all the details correctly in the application as per their official documents.
STEP 2: Appearing for Exam & Release of Cutoff

The NLU Shimla CLAT Cutoff 2026 has been released for round 2 for multiple categories under both the All India and Home State quota. The cutoff was out in the form of opening and closing ranks.
For the General HS category, the cutoff was 11211 for the B.A LL.B (Hons.) course, and 16167 for B.B.A.LL.
