JMI Entrance Exam MPT Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment: Check Dates, Fees & Procedure

Jamia Millia Islamia conducts counselling in offline mode, after the entrance exam is conducted. The process to participate in JMI entrance exam counselling is given here.

• Firstly, candidates must check the list of provisionally selected candidates to look for their name. The list is displayed on Jamia’s website, https://admission.jmi.ac.in/. Only students with their names on merit list will be able to participate in counselling. The schedule for JMI counselling is published on the website for different courses offered through the JMI Entrance Exam, along with the provisional list of selected candidates. No intimation will be sent to the candidates by post.
• Selected candidates must complete their admission formalities on or before the date notified as per the Admission Schedule provided in the Admission List. The result of the candidate should be complete in all respects on the day of admission. They are required to bring their JMI Entrance Test 2026 Admit Card and all the other attested copies. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of candidature.
• Candidates will get the original certificates after verification. But, JMI may retain the original transcripts/ results of the qualifying examination for TWO months from the start date of the session. 
• Selected candidates will have to fill Student Registration Form (to be obtained from the concerned Dean’s Office/ Department/ Centre) giving full details about themselves. Wherever applicable, the candidates will also indicate their choice of courses they wish to opt for as subsidiary/ optional.
• In cases where many courses/ branches are in one programme, the candidates will be allotted seats as per the preference filled in the application form, strictly as per merit and JMI admission rules. For the upgradation of course/ branch, the candidate has to take admission and fill out a form at the time of admission if he/ she wants to retain the allotted course/ branch or wants to upgrade. The upgrade will be done strictly as per merit and JMI admission rules. In no case, down gradation shall be allowed. The candidate is not allowed to change the preference after the form edit date is over.
• Candidates must submit Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate in original within 60 days from the date of admission. Failing to do so can result in cancellation of candidate's admission.
• If required, JMI may consider spot registration for admission from the list of selected and waitlisted candidates strictly in order of merit provided that they fulfil the eligibility criteria. The details about spot registration may be provided on the University website.
• The notice for commencement of classes will be issued seprately by Jamia, on its official website. So, students must keep a check on the university website to complete the admission.

Note - If a provisonally admitted candidate fails to submit the result of qualifying examination by October 31, 2026 for verification, the university cancel his/ her admission and forfeit the fee.

To complete the admission process, candidates have to submit certain documents during counselling process. Check below to get the list of required documents for JMI counselling:

• Proof of passing the qualifying examination together with the mark sheet in accordance with the eligibility requirements for admission as mentioned in this prospectus.
• Proof of age based on the certificate of High School/Secondary School or an equivalent examination.
• Proof of entitlement for a particular reserved category issued by the competent authority.
• Character Certificate and migration certificate from the institution last attended. The admission of external candidates will be subject to verification from the last institution attended. 
• Certificate from an M.B.B.S. doctor or from a government hospital certifying blood group.
• For BDS, BPT & MPT program, selected candidates shall have to submit a medical fitness certificate issued by Dr. M. A. Ansari Health Centre, JMI OR by a government hospital.
• Candidate has to bring respective Score cards of JEE Main 2026 for B.Tech, NEET-2026 for BDS and NATA 2026 for B.Arch., NCET 2026 for ITEP B.Ed, NEET-2026 for BPT programs at the time of admission.
• Proof of permanent address as declared in the Application Form with the name of the nearest Police Station and the District.

Note: Candidates applying for Evening/Part-time programs/Sponsored category have to submit some additional documents which are mentioned in JMI admission prospectus.

Documents Required for JMI Interview Round

Some courses have interview round after the release of result. Candidates have to bring following documents with them to their interview round:

For P.G. Diploma in Still Photography & Visual Communication (Self Financed)

• A portfolio to prove their interest in the course
• Proof of photography work.
• Proof of internship or work experience in any media/related organizations.
• Published, Exhibited work related to visual media etc.

For M.A.(Mass Communication)

• A portfolio to prove their interest in the course
• Audio-Visual Portfolio - Radio/Video/Photography/Film/Graphics/Music recordings.
• Published, exhibited, or broadcast work, such as articles, essays, and research papers.
• Certificates or other proof of participation in any workshops, conferences, professional work experience (internships) and/or extra‐curricular achievements, e.g. music, debates, dance, theatre, events or festivals.
• Proof of participation in social work (Involvement with NGOs or social organisations).
• Proof of participation in sports at the district level or above.

Note: Candidates who appeared for any other course for admission through JMI entrance exam must check their course's merit list to know the counselling schedule.

As per the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia, it accepts admission fee in only three modes. These are Cash (through Bank), Online, or UPI. The website also mentions that, "The fees shall be paid for one academic session at the time of admission. However, on the request basis, the concern Dean may allow to the fee deposit in two installments for first year and all the remaining years of the programs."

• In case of cash mode, candidates have to deposit their admission fee at either of the branches of Jamia Millia Islamia - Indian Bank or Bank of India. For this, applicants will have to collect a Pay-in-Slip from their concerned faculty/department/centre's office. If a student wants to deposit their course admission fee in any other branch, they can generate a Fee Payment Challan online on JMI's fee payment website - jmi.ac.in/feepayment.
• In case of online mode, applicants can pay their admission fee via Net Banking, Credit Cards, Debit Cards or UPI at jmi.ac.in/feepayment.

Note: Earlier JMI used to accept Demand Draft also, which is not the case now. Jamia also lays down some rules regarding payment of admission fee, which are mentioned in the admission prospectus for JMI entrance exam 2026-27. Candidates must make sure to check the rules before making the transaction.
