JMI CUET 2026

Jamia Millia Islamia accepts CUET scores for admissions to various UG, PG and diploma programmes. The list of these courses is shared by the university on its official website. Candidates seeking admission at Jamia Millia Islamia through the Common University Entrance Test must apply for CUET UG or CUET PG entrance exam (as per their course requirement). The CUET UG & PG exams are conducted by National Testing Agency once every year.

The CUET UG registration window 2026 has opened and will close on January 30, 2026. The CUET PG 2026 applications commenced on December 14, 2025. The CUET PG registration window will remain open until January 23, 2026 (extended). The UG 2026 exams will be conducted between May 11 and May 30, 2026 and PG 2026 exams will be conducted in March 2026. NTA will share the exam schedule for both entrance tests on their respective official website.

Jamia Millia Islamia conducts the university-level entrance exam to offer admission to shortlisted candidates into various UG & PG courses under specifications such as Engineering and Technology, Law, Teaching and Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, and languages. Q:   What all courses are offered through JMI Entrance Exam?
A:

Through JMI Entrance Exam, students can get admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral (PhD, MPhil) and postgraduate Diploma courses. These courses cover almost every stream. Q:   What is the refund process if I want to withdraw my admission to Jamia Millia Islamia?
A:

To get a refund by withdrawing admission at JMI, students have to submit an application to their faculty. The university allows admission withdawl for a limited time only. Once the admission withdrawl application is successfully processed, the applicant will get a refund after deduction (if any). The refund process at JMI usually takes three to four weeks.

Q:   Can I get admission to Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI] for BTech in Mechanical Engineering if my JEE rank is between 25000 and 30000?
A:

For last year, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 25361 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI].

Aspirants planning to apply for CUET UG or CUET PG entrance exam for JMI admissions 2026 can follow the process mentioned here. 

Firstly, students have to visit the respective NTA portal.

  • exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/

After visiting these portals, they can follow this process.

1. Register by entering personal information like name, parents’ names, DOB, gender, nationality, ID, address, and contact details (email and phone). Applicants must also choose a password and set up a security question and answer. An application number will be generated that will be used for future logins, along with the password created by the applicants.

2. Log in again and fill out the application form. Add information like category, category certificates, parents’ occupation and qualifications, annual family income, domicile, educational qualifications, choice of exam cities, and other quota details (PwD, BPL, Ex-Servicemen, etc.), whatever necessary.

3. Upload scanned images of your photograph and signature. The format must be JPG/ JPEG. The size for the photograph must be 10 KB to 200 KB, and that of the signature must be 4 KB to 30 KB. 

4. Pay your application fee using net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.

JMI Admission Process after CUET

Once aspirants have applied and appeared for CUET, they must fill JMI admission form on the institute's website - admission.jmi.ac.in. They must mention their CUET application number in this form. Once the CUET results are declared, shortlisted candidates will undergo JMI counselling and document verification. Based on these processes, examinees will be allotted seats to their chosen programmes.

The duration of JMI entrance exam is different for different programmes. For mass communication,  the JMI exam duration is 3 hours. For rest of the courses, the duration is between 1 hour 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Yes, Jamia released the course-wise JMI result in PDF format. Once released, candidates who appeared for the examination can check their result on its official website. The result will include name, roll number and rank of the selected candidates.

Yes, if you want to apply for two courses at Jamia, you will have to fill two seprate application forms for both courses. But, they do not have to register twice. Candidates will also have to pay JMI application fee for both courses.
