Great campus life, average placements, and improving faculty.
Placements: The college has a Training & Placement cell that organizes aptitude tests, group discussions, and mock interviews. These prepare students for both technical and HR rounds. According to Careers360, in one placement cycle, 131 students were placed. The median salary (for UG) is around 4.70 LPA as per one report. According to college batch, the highest package is around 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are average. Rooms are decent but not very modern. Basic furniture is provided. Water and electricity are generally available, but maintenance can be slow sometimes. Cleanliness depends on the wardens and students. Discipline is not perfect but manageable. Food quality is okay, not great. The mess menu is repetitive, but hygiene is acceptable. Canteen food is better than the mess, but choices are limited. Overall, food is average like in most government engineering colleges.
Faculty: There is a large variation in pass percentage according to different students. Some say very low (33%), others very high (90+%). This suggests that difficulty may depend heavily on the branch, semester, or teacher. The official pass mark per subject (for exams) is relatively standard (35%) under JUT’s grading scheme, which is common in many engineering colleges. The attendance requirement (75%) is strict. Missing lectures can make exam eligibility harder.
Other: Athletics (running, relay race), football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, chess, tug-of-war, kabaddi, powerlifting (in some fests). Other indoor games include carrom, pool, etc.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri
4.4

Good placements, helpful faculty, and decent campus life with scope for improvement.
Placements: Around 80-90% students get placed. The highest package is about 16.5 LPA. The lowest is approximately 4.5 LPA, and the average is about 7.5 LPA. Top recruiters include Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, Capgemini, and L&T. Nearly 70% students get internships in firms like Tata Steel, DRDO, and Microsoft. Roles offered are engineer, analyst, and developer.
Infrastructure: BIT, Sindri offers Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, classrooms with projects, and a large library. Hostels are basic but functional, the mess food is hygienic, and the canteens are affordable. Medical care is available, and sports facilities include cricket, football, volleyball, and indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers at Bit Sindri are very qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is decent with a theory and practical focus. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. Semester exams are moderately difficult with a pass percentage of around 90 to 95%.
Other: I chose cybersecurity for its demand and role in protecting data. The best part is learning ethical hacking, cryptography, and network security. Needs better labs and tools. Campus has fests, clubs, scholarships, sports, and a family crowd.

Absolutely value for money college, with a good alumni network.
Placements: Our college has one of the best placements in the core sector. Many top companies, such as AMNS, TATA Steel, ITC, Delloite, and JSL, visit our college regularly. Our college has maintained an average package of around 7.5 LPA. The mechanical and electrical engineering branches are two of the best branches of our college, with a record of 90% placements for decades.
Infrastructure: Our college has state-of-the-art infrastructure as it is the top college under the Government of Jharkhand. Our college has 31 hostels till now, and a new lecture hall complex and auditorium are being made on the campus. The work is almost done; it will be completed in just one more year, and these two will also continue working. The college doesn't provide any sort of Wi-Fi in the hostels, but there are many private operators like Jio and Airtel on campus. You can contact them, but you have to pay for it on your own.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, and most of them are Ph.D. holders, but they will only help you if you show some eagerness for the work. They will help you, but you first have to fight for it and grab their attention. For each semester, you have to give three exams, mid-semester 1 and 2, and end-of-semester, along with VIVA and practical. The curriculum is very new, according to the NEP 2020.
Other: The crowd is pretty good, almost everyone on the campus scored in the good percentile in their JEE exam, and after that, they entered this college. There are more than 15 clubs on the campus. They organize some fests, but that is not that good, pretty good for a tier 2 state government college.

BITians are second to none.
Placements: We had a total of around 40-45 students in the final year this time. In which 24-25 students got placed. The placement percentage of my branch is 55 percent. The software scenario is not that good in this college, but for the core, it's magnificent. In the metallurgy branch, the placement report was 100 percent.
Infrastructure: Actually, we have a lecture hall, but from this year onwards, the classes will be held in the new lecture hall, which is going to be inaugurated this year, only for the new students. As BIT is one of the oldest colleges in India, its infrastructure is a bit old. About the hostel, it's average, I would say. The food quality is good ( not like the way Hostel food is described), it's genuinely good enough that you can survive. We have a central library in the centre of the college, with a lot of books for every domain and field.
Faculty: The exam is conducted by the University JUT, so sometimes it's too late and sometimes it's too early. About the paper, you can literally study for two days before the exam and score above 90 percent. Here, two mid semesters are conducted, each of 10 marks, and then end semester is conducted.
Other: Around college, there are very few spots to explore. Not even more cafes. So those things bother me. But other than that, the BIT is the best.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028

I am absolutely satisfied with myself at D.A.V. Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: The highest package offered is 3 LPA. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month. Companies like Tech Mahindra, etc., visit the college to hire students. Principal sir is very good, and he always tries to bring companies for students who study on the campus of the D.A.V. Institute of Engineering.
Infrastructure: The library is good for studying. The hostel is also good for students who want to study in the college of D.A.V. Institute of Engineering and Technology, Medininagar. It is the best for studying. The hostel is not far from the college campus, so students can easily come there.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. There is a moderate level of the semester exams. By studying, it is easier to pass semester examinations, and mainly 4 branches are offered, i.e., mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science and engineering.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2027
Offered by Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri

College is good for your personal studies. You will get enough time to prepare for competition.
Placements: Placement scenario at BIT Sindri is decent. Average package is around 7 LPA - 8 LPA. But the placement of civil branch is very poor. Not half of the batch got placed. Mining branch has a good package. Cyber security was added in the year 2024.
Infrastructure: All branches have separate departments. Bit Sindri has a huge library but the staffs are not that much cooperative. You can take a book for 15 days, and after that, 10 paise/day will be charged. There is no Wi-Fi zone on the campus. Hostel is decent, you have to stay with 4-5 students in the 1st and 2nd year. In 3rd year, you will get separate room.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and cooperative. All teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. But they don't use their potential fully. Exams are not so tough. You can pass the exams by studying the day before the exams. You can neither expect too much from a government college.
Other: Civil branch has poor placement but has a bright future. You can apply for many government jobs. Fests are rare at the college. There are clubs and NGOs where you can join and organise events and do social work.
