The University is a state-government university approved by the UGC and the AICTE. The University started its first academic session in August 2013. Whereas, DDU was established in 1957. The UGC recognizes the university and has 350 affiliated colleges and six faculty members comprising 32 departments. NAAC accredits the university with a grade of A+. 

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University is a very old institute and has more experience in the field of education, which exceeds its reputation as a whole.
