GEC Wayanad review.
Placements: College's official placement page lists recruiters. It includes TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Elxsi, Cognizant, UST, QBurst, SOTI, & Schneider Electric. For 2024–25, the official list includes several CSE students placed through QSpiders. It also includes placements at ESAF and Schneider Electric in other branches. A published 2023 placement summary reports 85 students placed out of 90 offers. The highest package is listed as 10 LPA. The average package is 5 LPA. The median package is 4.8 LPA. These figures come from a third-party source. They should be treated cautiously. They may not represent the college's current official placement statistics.
Infrastructure: College has separate men's and women's hostels. College website also publishes hostel allotment lists for B.Tech students. The hostel facilities include internet connectivity, a mini store, a mini library, fitness equipment, & indoor sports facilities such as table tennis and shuttle badminton. Separate accommodation is available for men and women. The college also issues tenders for hostel maintenance and upgrades. In 2026, it issues a tender for washing machines for the hostels.
Faculty: Some students report that a few teachers are excellent, while others are less effective. There are also complaints that portions are not always completed on time. According to student reviews, the CSE department has highly qualified faculty members, including PhD and M.Tech holders. GEC Wayanad follows the KTU curriculum. The newer 2024 scheme has been introduced for current batches. Students have different opinions about it. Some find it more modern. They feel that it provides better exposure. Others feel that it still contains too much theory & needs more practical, industry-oriented content. Semester examinations are conducted under KTU. The college also conducts internal and series examinations before the university exams.
Other: A new tech fest named Astra was introduced. However, it was postponed for some reasons.

Government Engineering College Wayanad is the palace above the hills.
Placements: The placements here are comparatively fewer than those at other colleges. Only students who excel in their domains get placed in good core companies related to their fields. The placement cell makes active efforts to help students get placed.
Infrastructure: My course, Electronics and Communication Engineering, has excellent faculty members and facilities. The college facilities are good. The men's hostel is very good compared to hostels outside. The rooms and food facilities are very good and offer great value for money.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-experienced. They are experts in their respective domains. They are always available to help us with our academic needs. They support us and motivate us to perform better academically. The exams are well-designed and motivate us to study more to achieve success.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by LBS College of Engineering
2.8
3.0Placements3.0Infrastructure2.0Faculty3.0Crowd & Campus Life3.0Value for Money
It is an average college in terms of faculty, students, fees, and placements.
Placements: Placements from our college are a bit average. Some of the students get placed. In the 26-27 batch, one of the students got placed at Infosys with a salary package of 6.9 LPA. Most of the placements are held for CSE and ECE branches. Other branches have a lower placement rate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is overall good for the college and hostel. But it has all old buildings and old structures. There is a long distance between all the departments and the main block. It is a bit difficult to find exam rooms allotted for series and semester exams. The labs, classrooms, library, etc., are good, and Wi-Fi is also available. The hostel is also nice. There are mainly 5 hostels. There are 2 hostels separately for first-year boys outside the campus, and other-year boys have 2 hostels inside. Girls have a hostel inside. The mess food is average. Medical facilities and sports and games are available.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are good and helpful, while some may not help us. My course curriculum for B.Tech in CSE is average. It doesn't make us industry-ready. We need to work on it. We ourselves should become industry-ready. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but if you have the will to study, you will surely succeed. It's not that tough to pass (from my two years of experience). The college has around an 83% pass percentage. It was in 15th place among the APJ KTU colleges last year.
Other: If you have a KEAM rank around 30000, you can choose this college as merit. It charges a low fee, and the college is better for this. The college is not worth it if you take a high-fee seat or an NRI seat. Faculty members should be improved, and the facilities inside the college and buildings should also be improved. Many events are held in the college, but the number of events should also increase.

Lbs college of engineering .
Placements: I think only 30% or less than students got placements. Even I anlyse the placement statics, there are only 50 students and same person is shown multiple times. In 23-27 batch, one of the students got salary package of 6 LPA, and I think it is the highest in this year. Some students got a salary package of 4 LPA. Infosis, TCS, and Tech Mahindra are the major recruiting comapnies.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over 52 acres, genuinely, it's very hard to explore. It is full of rocks, and there is heavy sunlight in each department that is spread over more than 500 meters. The hostel is fine. Food is good for me as they serve biryani Monday to Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday, they serve Egg biryani. On Thursday at noon, we get vegetarian biryani.
Faculty: Faculty members are kind of waste. I don't understand anything. We are literally going for attendance only. Some faculty members are good but after 3 to 4 classes they loose interest in teaching. They just teach like an NPC pre-programme. You need to study yourself to pass the examination and prepare notes.
Other: Due to high placement statics, I chose CSE. They need to improve the syllabus in a better way. The campus doesn't conduct any events but some programs are there but they are not worth it.

This college is a really good option for all freshers.
Placements: The college offers really good placement opportunities with top companies coming as recruiters. The college has connections with all companies and has 100 percent placement. Companies like Microsoft and top 5 companies also come for recruitment. There are also internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is equipped all over the campus, with AC halls, and a library with a lot of reference books and a lot of space. The quality of food in the mess is decent and the canteen provides tasty food. The campus has a lot of courts for sports like badminton, football, shuttle, etc.
Faculty: Faculty are really helpful and they clear all our doubts and offer classes for placement opportunities. They support us in all cultural activities and encourage us to join all activities. The difficulty of semester exams is normal. Normally, 50 marks are needed for passing.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2025
Offered by Government Engineering College, Thrissur
3.8
3.0Placements3.0Infrastructure3.0Faculty5.0Crowd & Campus Life5.0Value for Money
GEC Thrissur: A perfect launchpad for an aspiring engineer.
Placements: Placements are from Reliance, MRF, Sudchemy, and many other non-core IT companies. Placements are usually conducted through online video meetings and exams, which I find can allow many unworthy students to pass, as cheating is practiced by many. Offline interviews are also common but the bigger core companies prefer online selection.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are adequate. Hostel facilities are tolerable. The library is good. Canteen is located within the campus and sells food at a reasonable rate. Canteen is located in one corner of the campus and not in the middle, so students from some departments have to travel farther.
Faculty: Teachers are graduates from NITS and other engineering colleges who know their stuff but are a little hesitant or have a problem with imparting it to students. The university doesn't have a proper textbook and the course topics are from many textbooks, which have to be either bought or borrowed from the library, which is quite exhausting.
Other: College events are fun and the different parties organise it. Dyuthi the cultural college fest is a major crowd puller. Depth events are also fun depending on the department.
