MG University Course Admissions 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Selection, Application Form

Yes, the university offers admission based on national and university-based entrance exams. There are some courses which are offered on the basis of merit scores. MGU admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. MGU Kerala conducts a Common Admission Test (majorly known as MGU CAT) for admission to all PG courses. However, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for MBA and PhD admissions.

In addition to this, MG University also offers distance learning courses through its Center For Online Education (COE). MG University admissions to all the programmes offered by the university and the affiliated colleges are conducted through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).

Mahatma Gandhi Univerity Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) application fee is announced category-wise. The application fee for general and open all-India quota candidates is INR 1,200 and INR 600 for the SC/ST candidates. Moreover, the fee for international candidates is UD 100. The fee payment shall be accepted in online mode via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

MG University admissions to PhD programme is based on a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE/ GPAT/ SLET/ JSET/ University Entrance Test. MGU Kerala admit candidates to the MBA course based on merit in CMAT/CAT/KMAT KERALA/KMAT/MAT/XAT/Karnataka PGCET/MGU CAP. Candidates seeking admission with a valid score in either of the accepted exams can apply. Some of the affiliated colleges offering the Management course may accept other entrance exam scores as well. During the form filling and at the time of admission, candidates should carry the scorecard of the respective entrance exam.

Furthermore, candidates without any entrance score can take the MGU CAT exam. Admission is granted based on this university exam score as well.

The MGU MSc course aspirants with a valid BSc or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate are eligible to apply. However, it is necessary that the candidate did the degree course in the relevant stream. The eligibility criteria for some of the MSc specialisations is mentioned below for reference:

Students getting admitted to the MG University BA course must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate. The selection list will be announced by the university in an online mode. Admission to the BA course at MG University is based on a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). Eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of MG University. 

MG University admissions to all the available courses are conducted through CAP. Below is the step-wise application process to fill out the MG University application form.

2 - Fill out the application form by providing the academic and personal details.  

3 - Upload all the required documents 

4 - Pay the application fee online and click on the submit button to complete the application form.

Candidates can submit important documents for verification purposes. These documents are required to ensure the aspirant is eligible for the programme. The digital copies of the documents to be uploaded at the time of online application form filling are as follows:

The basic eligibility criteria that students must fulfil to avail Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students are given below:

• The applicant must be above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12 or equivalent.
• The applicant must be pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses.
• The applicant must be pursuing courses at colleges/institutions recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned.
• The applicant must not be availing the benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State-run scholarship schemes/ fee waivers & reimbursement schemes.
• The gross parental/family income of the applicant should not exceed ?4,50,000 per annum.
• For renewal of scholarship in each year of study, besides getting at least 50% marks in the Annual Examination, maintenance of adequate attendance of at least 75%, will also be the criteria.

There are no direct scholarships available for students at Mahatma Gandhi University. Students at the Mahatma Gandhi University are eligible to apply for scholarships provided by national state, and local authorities as well as the UGC. Below is the list of scholarships that students can avail of:

CEE has announced the revised KEAM 2024 exam dates. While the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Engineering remains scheduled from June 5 to June 9, 2024, there's a change in the exam timings. Engineering exams will now be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, shifting from the previous slot of 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Conversely, the Pharmacy exam, originally planned for June 6, will now take place on June 10, 2024, maintaining its original timing from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

Candidates appearing for the Engineering Course must report at the examination centers between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. For the Pharmacy Examination, candidates should report at the examination centers between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
