MGU CAT Application Form 2025 (Available): Know How to Apply and Fees

The application fee of MGU CAT for General and Open All India quota candidates is INR 1,100 and for SC/ST candidates it is INR 550. The fee is to be paid online via debit/credit card or net banking. Candidates must note that fee payment in a mandatory step in form submission process. The MGU CAT form will not be accepted until the fee is paid. Applicants must also note that the fee is non-refundable.

MGU CAT application form is made available on the MGU and the entrance exam official websites. Candidates can visit the website to apply online. Details in the application form should be filled out carefully and as per the candidates official documents. Also, the application form must be submitted on or before the prescribed deadline.

It is not compulsory for MBA course aspirants to take the MGU CAT exam. As the university accept national-level exam scores as well, including CAT/CMAT/KMAT. Candidates applying with a national-level exam score are directly called for the personal interview round.

MGU CAT 2025 application process has started. Candidates can fill the form from April 25 to June 2, 2025. The MGU CAT application dates were announced by MG University at its website for all courses. The application schedule may be extended and the new deadline will be announced by the university at its website.

MGU CAT 2025 exam dates was announced by the MG University as May 30 and May 31, 2025. But it has been revised as June 8 and June 9, 2025. Candidates can fill the MGU CAT application form at the official website for April 25 to June 2, 2025. The exam will be conducted at designated examination centres, details of which will be shared in the MGU CAT 2025 admit card.

The minimum marks required to apply for MGU CAT exam varies between 50 to 60 per cent aggregate in graduation. For each course, the minimum score criteria is different.

MBA/PGDM, MSc, LLM, MA (Politics & International Relations/Politics & Human Rights/Public Policy & Governance), the minimum score requirement is 50 percent.

For MA Economics, MA in Malayalam, MA in English, MA (Gandhian Studies/Development Studies), MA (History and Anthropology) and M.Ed, the minimum score requirement is 45 percent.

MGU CAT application form is not available offline. The institute releases MGU CAT application form in online mode only at its official website. All candidates have to register on the website, fill the application form and pay the fee online only.

The MGU CAT application fee is not refundable. Thus, candidates make sure they do not make any error in the form and that they have fill another form. Even if they have filled the form correctly, but choose to not appear in the exam, the fee amount will not be refunded.

There is no provision to edit MGU CAT application form after submission. Candidates can edit their forms till the time they haven't submitted it. Once submitted the form will not be available for editing. Thus, candidates must fill the MGU CAT application form with correct details in the first attempt only. If they make any error, they will have to fill a fresh form and pay the fee again.

The MGU CAT exam is conducted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Candidates have to select the city of preference for test centre allotment in the MGU CAT application form. Candidates must select the test city in which they either live or have easy access to, as once the test city has been confirmed, it will not be changed by the examination authority.

Yes, candidates can apply for multiple courses in MGU CAT if they need the eligibility criteria for those courses. The MGU CAT question paper for each course will have course specific questions and one needs to clear the test to be eligible for admission. Thus, candidates must first make sure they can clear the test for multiple courses only then should they apply. Otherwise, they should apply to their most preferred course only.

Candidates can use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Mircosoft Edge or Safari to fill the MGU CAT application form. The university website is compatible with every web browser. However, it is advised that candidates fill the form on a desktop or a laptop and not on a smartphone browser to minimize chances of error.

MGU CAT exam centres are located in five cities across Kerala. The centres are at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur. Candidates can opt a maximum of three centres on a preferential basis. However, the decision of allotment will be made by the MG University.

For admission to M.Tech programme offered by MG University, candidates must have valid GATE score. They must have passed GATE exam in the same academic year. Such candidates are not required to appear in MGU CAT exam and can directly seek admission by participating in the GD/PI round.

After the MGU CAT exam is conducted and the result is announced, the university conducts a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) which includes PI or GD-PI. CAT qualifying candidates have to participate and clear the GD/PI round for their respective courses to be selected for admission. Thereafter the final merit list is prepared based on candidates’ overall performance. 

MGU CAT exam has 80 MCQs with four choices for each question. Each correct answer carries one mark and there is negative score for incorrect answers. The entrance exam duration is 90 minutes. The MBA entrance exam scores are valid for admission to MG University’s MBA courses are CAT, CMAT and KMAT. Candidates must have passed any one of these exams in the same academic year. They are not required to appear for MGU CAT and can directly participate in the personal assessment round – GD and PI.
