The university offers MSc in nearly 21 specialisations. These courses are available on campus. Many MGU Kerala affiliated institutes also offer the PG programme. Tabulated below are some of the MSc specialisations:

A Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) is used for the purpose of the MG University application procedure for all courses offered on the university campus. To apply for any of the programmes, candidates must first register online at the MGU CAT official website. Candidates from the general category must pay a cost of INR 1,000, while applicants from the reserved category must pay a fee of INR 500. The steps for applying to MG University are listed below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of MGU.

Step 2: Click on new registration and register yourself.

Step 3: Fill in the required academic and personal details.

Step 4: Upload the required documents, including a qualifying exam mark sheet and a passport-size photograph.

Step 5: Pay the application fee online via debit/ credit cards or net banking.

MGU CAT 2024 exam dates are announced in May 2024. The MG University announces the exam dates and registration schedule on its official website. Moreover, the application process generally commence in the first week of Feb 2024.

Ragging in any form is a cognizable offence and is banned in MG University, Roorkee. The college premises has strict laws against the student found guilty of any act such as abusing, assaulting, threatening, teasing and embarrassment to new students, among others.

As per the NIRF report 2025, the median salary for UG 5-year and PG 2-year couses in 2024 stood at INR 4 LPA and INR 5.5 LPA. Earlier, the median salary offered to UG 5-year students in 2023 was INR 3.6 LPA and for PG 2-year it was INR 6 LPA.  

The median salary for UG 5-year courses has improved from 2022 to 2024. It was INR 1.8 LPA in 2022 and rose to INR 4 LPA in 2024. Out of 38 UG 5-year students 26 were placed in 2024. Furthermore, a fluctuating trend wa sobserved in the PG 2-year median salary. Out of 565 PG 2-year students 455 were placed in 2024.
